April 27, 200719 yr tis fair enough though, would only be worth deducting points if it meant relegating them, they've taken care of that themselves though, so little point in taking more points off them, though finishing under watford would've been funny
April 27, 200719 yr So surely Tevez can't play for them again whilst he is owned by MSI? Since they are own by Kia/MSI how does that effect how they'll be bought? Will the potential buying club have to make an offer to MSI or WHU, and is there a chance that they'll be done by the FA next season too?
April 27, 200719 yr Tevez won't play for us again. In theory he could if we 're-signed' him from MSI then re-registered him with the Premier League. But that won't happen because it's outside the transfer window, and MSI won't want to sell him. I think it's a definite that we'll win at Wigan now.
April 27, 200719 yr It's pretty much a must win game anyway. If ye lose and Sheffield win at watford it's all over.
April 27, 200719 yr It's pretty much a must win game anyway. If ye lose and Sheffield win at watford it's all over. If we lose I agree. Sheff Utd result is irrelevant. i think we can finish above Charlton, Fulham and Wigan.

April 27, 200719 yr for the 66 boys... daresay you have checked out the reasons for the punishment, but what i can get my head round is that Bury got kicked out of the cup for playing player who was not properly registered. basically they were deemed to have forefitted the game. why is the logic different here, new owners ? does nt really wash as they have had the benefit of the guy playing, the problem came to light a few months ago and they have continued to play him. Be interesting if say Wigan now go down and whelan launches an appeal..... I imagine this one has a long way to go yet......

Be interesting if say Wigan now go down and whelan launches an appeal..... I imagine this one has a long way to go yet...... Firstly, The FA and The Premier League are two different bodies. Secondly, we've been fined ?3m for breaching Rule B13: "in all matters and transactions relating to the league, each club shall behave towards each other club and the league with the utmost good faith". Thirdly we've been fined ?2.5m for breaching Rule U18: No club shall enter into a contract which enables any other party to that contract to acquire the ability materially to influence its policies or the performance of its teams in league matches or in any (other) competitions." In other words the offence is regarding MSI's involvement with the PL believing that they held influence over WHU. Essentially we haven't been done for fielding inelligble players.
April 27, 200719 yr http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/t...ham/5009584.stm Interestingly enough, a totally different fine to the one imposed on Altrincham. Didn't realise the FA were tailoring punishments to suit the punished. As Ani said, if Wigan go down they will kick off big time and Whelan is the type of person who will issue lawsuits left, right and centre.

If you breach the rules concerning player ownership, then that surely renders a player ineligible?
April 27, 200719 yr The Shakers Shakers Ra Ra RA were slung out of the FA Cup this season for less. What West Ham have done is not an administrative oversight but basically cheating, kick them out of the League.
