Who Is This Kid?

Arsenal are hoping to land highly-rated Ajax winger Ryan Babel for ?6m - and Bolton youngster Kyle Bartley for ?500,000. (Daily Mirror)

Kyle Bartley, anyone know if he is any good? Seems odd we would sell a promising youngster.

can he play right back?

He's an England U-16 international no less!

Kyle Bartley - Bolton Wanderers - Defender

DOB: 22/5/91

A physically dominant central defender with great strength, Kyle is an imposing presence at the heart of the defence. His strength and defensive reactions are assured, and he is confident when attacking the ball in the air.

Get him on the pitch! Born 1991, God I feel old.....

Played at wembley the other week

how can you judge his strength and defensive reactions at 16!!!!

we haven't so much chosen to sell him

in fact, i think the regs are such that we haven't actually signed him, as such

he's free to leave, and we can't stop him

Tom Cruise wtf?

Thats correct we can't acutally tie him to a contract until he is 18, but then again is a contract worth the paper its written on ?

Says he's been nursed by Bolton since he was ten. My guess is he'll go to Arsenal, be given his chance and score a header against us every time he plays for the next 15 years.

Where is he from? If he's a bolton fan then no way will he go to Arsenal

Come on he's English, therefore, he'll play a handful of games, go out on loan then we sold to a side struggling with relegation or an ambitious Championship side

Ah now, he's touted as "the next micah richards", who is of course an established world class player in his prime, and not just some young lads who's got a string of first team appearances under his belt. I always think it's a bit ridiculous how some people can get so impressed by a few decent games without messing up too badly, suddenly they're the next big thing. :nea:

Kyle Bartley

doesnt sound black to me

:D

F?ck me! He is younger than me, and he already has a half million pound price tag, whats that all about.

If he has signed a youth team contract for us then we own him and they will have to pay us. However igf he hasn't already signed for us and they have offered him a better contract then I don't see why they would have to pay. Maybe some compensation, but even that i don't no why they would have to.

I were about to post the same thing. Thought i'd never see the day that someone younger than me would be professionally in this game!

The lad isn't even 16 yet!

Yoof Yoof! :drinks:

They may only have to pay ?200,000 for him. Manchester boy Bartley has been at Bolton since he was 10 and is the star of England's under-16 international side. But he is quitting Wanderers before he turns pro. And Bartley is booked in to join Arsenal's young aces on an end-of-season tour, with a contract expected to be signed soon. Bartley has been offered terms to stay at Bolton, but feels better deals are on available. Tottenham and Everton are interested, but Arsenal seem to have won the race.

How many young English players from the Arsenal Academy has Arsene Wenger given a chance in the last 5 years? I can't think of any. Walcott was bought from Southampton, but he is being played out of position on the wing and I thought that he had gone back a mile when we played them in the Cup. The young lad must be very badly advised.

I just wonder if with Sammy Lee now in charge, if we can't try to keep this lad?
