Don't listen to that advice. I haven't gone to bed yet cos i got stuck playing internet poker all night.

It is more than 80% skill. I don't class it as gambling. The best players/mathematitions come out on top FACT.

We had a game a while back.

ive tried a couple, which were shite. hence i asked on here and took horwich's advice with the betfair game. (which is very good)

 

considering id never really played before, i read the rules watched a couple of rounds then jumped in. i tend to win and lose and end up with what i already had 10 games previous. where as some guys keep winning and winning. thats not luck, thats skill.

 

i suppose it comes down to a bit of experiance too. but i started to pick up how certain players played and pick up when they would fold or when they would raise.

 

bit more practice tonight, then im ready for some serious poker (play money of course)

Pokerstars have a freeroll for football fans every Monday 8.00, I personally play pacific the most. If you do play money, only do it for a couple of weeks just to get a feel for the game, as it is not real money people play far too loose aggressive so you don't get a true reflection on the proper game.

I agree - same as my above comment on play money, but seeing this is football site, and the freeroll I was talking about is football related then why not say.

totally agree with the play money thing. people would play totally differently if the money was actually theres.

in the free games people just chuck all their money in and then if they lose just start again, if they win they think they are good !

 

use these games to understand the rules, if you play slowly on these tables and undertsand the odds you wil win in the long run.
