The transfer window doesn't close for another 6 weeks or so, so plenty of time yet.

 

Also, it could be argued that Cid has been brought in as a replacement for TBH, and Samuel is a new left back, so replaces the role that Pederson played for us (sometimes)

But which of them have brought anyone of real quality in.

 

For instance Wigan has brought in Bramble at the back, Fulham spent ?3m on Baird who i rate as average. Sunderland bought a centre half for 2.5m+ who played just a few games in the Prem for Reading. Derby spent ?3.5m on a Earnshaw who hasn't made the grade in the Prem before and Keane has spent ?5 on a Toon reject!!!

 

I'd rather us save our money and get the right players in when we can. None of the above teams have brought in a player who would improve our team in my opinion......With the possible exception of Koumas but he was silly money and is still not a proven player IMO

There has been more activity this year than in any of the previous years and we haven't finished yet. Prices of players will come down the closer you get to the start of the season, (with players who only have a year left on their contract and the clubs selling don't want to lose them for nothing)

 

IMO we are in a better position than we have ever been, I'm looking forward to next season more than any of our previous premiership seasons.

I think allardyce has a little to do with the creativity thing. I think we will see a bit more creativity this season from the current crop.

good point homer but they can buy who they want when we want... we can buy who no other fucker wants on deadline day

It's early days yet, but we've the same numbers as last season and I'd say the current squad is stronger than the one that finished last season.

I think we have added some much needed depth to the squad, and would rather us wait to get the one or two potential big buys.

 

Look at the silly money being spent right now.

 

Keep the cash in the pocket until the right man comes along.

 

Sammy knows who he wants, and if the price is right, he will buy.

 

We are no weaker than we were last year, and with more to come (hopefully), I am more optomistic this year than I was at this stage 12 months ago

I must have entered a time warp and gone back to July 2006. Some were predicting relegation and offering mass BJ's if we stayed up. Just because you put FACT behind summet doesn't make it right. Wait and see who else we sign - I have a hunch LSL is biding his time until players and sellers see the time running out. Still reckon he'll make one or two big signings.

Keep the faith FFS. If we end up top 10 in LSL's first season I will be happy enough. Owt else a bonus.

We may have added 5 but we also lost 5, our squad was too small last season and needs to even bigger this season to cope with the UEFA cup I think we will struggle to get into the top 8 as all the other teams around us have strengthened their 1st teams as well as their squads

I agree top 10 in SL's first season will be massive achievement. I have faith in him and the players that we have kept from last season to perform well but i honestly think we need at least 5 more signings and I have no confidence in the board and for that matter garside who i wouldnt trust as far as i could throw him (and I've got big arms!)

 

Got my s/t renewed already and will be right behind em from that first whistle. Would love it to put one over on Sam so soon into the new season. Come on u white men!
