To me, a much worse performance today than the first half against Newcastle.

Shockingly bad.

So if we've no passion how do we concede a penalty by someone wading in there and Speed get a yellow for a sliding tackle, pray tell?

Cid is a fooking liability. And we are selling Faye!

Did you watch both games, the 1st half against Newcaslte was much worse. Looked decent going forward today, but that defence is exposed every time we loose the ball

You're right, he doesn't look good enough.

I truly believe though if we sort the back, we'll be reet. Faye going is not a good sign though.

Are the teakm losing faith in LSL already maybe its worse maybe they are losing faith with the tight cnuts that run the club? IMO we cant give up yet but some drastic changes are required if we are gonna avoid a relegation battle!

back 4 are lightweight and error prone. Cid will cost us many points this season (did FSA sign him after he made his made up to go?).

If we sell Anelka, no idea where any goals will come from.

and we seem to be losing the ball a lot!!!

yes i watched both games. Newcastle are a decent outfit, good players (man fior man muych better than ours, well descipilined). Pompey are about the same as us. Looked decent goi9ng forward - and managed 3 shots on goal ? I'd hate us to look shite going forward.

i am really worried the longer this goes on the confidence will start to go heads will fall and anelka and a few others will be off,

please somebody say summat positive to cheer me up.

even Wigan have won for christ sake!!!!!!

So there is nothing positive then???? In no way was that worse then the Newcastle match for a start. First goal came from losing possession on our left, samuel caught too far forward, cid has to go to where samuel should be, meite covering cid and Hunt left two against one (not his fault for a change)......second goal, hunt too far forward, portsmouth player makes his run beyond hunt before he gets ball, hunt still walking back (which he does ALOT), hunt realises ball coming his way but too late, portsmouth player free run on jussi...goal. Third goal looked a good tackle by cid, and the replay shows got ball first.

Midfield looked better, going forward looked better, defensively again weak from the flanks needs improving, cid will get better.

In all, we need the fullbacks to tuck in and forget about going forward as we have wingers now......it will get better

Unlike previous seasons, we now have options in midfield, but Sammy Lee just needs to find the right combination quickly. Maybe he should think about playing McCann just in front of the back four (in the Campo role) O'Brien may also make a difference in terms of organising the back four but it's vital that we keep Anelka.

Don't forget Portsmouth had half their best team missing, including a full back four, and central midfield.

We should have looked good in midfield and attack.

Having heard the post match interviews, it disturbs me that LSL always sees positives.

I would prefer him to say "That was a shambolic defensive display that undermined the whole performance, players didn't honour their defensive reponsibilities, things are going to change".

I'd be more disturbed if he started weeping half-way through the interview! One thing i do like about Sammy Lee so far is that he seems to be able to manage pressure. I don't think any rookie manager can have had such a tough introduction.

Agreed .. that is a big worry for me. Sammy seems unable to produce the language for a reaction from the players. I don't think it is going to improve either. Time is a commodity scarce in this league and no matter which way you look at it we are now slowly slipping into a season that could well be a battle against relegation. How long sammy remains at the helm will depend on when he achieves a first premiership victory.

Blimey! Were you in the dressing room?! What else did he say?!

Yes real tough, Fulham, Pompey and Newcastle are the top 3 teams in the Prem.

all the more reason for 3 straight defeats to get you a bit edgy

I'm not just talking about the teams we've played you muppet.

He said "sometimes you don't always get what you deserve in football lads don't worry you can have monday off and we'll try some defensive ideas at training on Tuesday, enjoy your weekend !"

I can honestly say if we don't get 6 points out of the next 2 home games then Sammy Lee will be history!

The next question then would be who will the next manager be? Paul Jewell or Warnock anyone

Neither ! if that is what eventually happens ...or George Burley ....Peter Reid as a stop gap maybe ?

any of the first three, but defo not Reid.

Gartside won't sack a manager after 5 games. His credability with the premier commitee would be ruined.

It's time to rally and get behind LSL and put pressure on the board to splash the cash and shore up our defence.

LSL will be at the supporters club meeting next week, we should all get down there and show him our support! =D>
