Homer - everyone is replaceable, but do you seriously think we can get someone of Jussi's quality given the amount of money we (don't) spend. I think goalkeepers are much undervalued when you look at what strikers and many midfielders are raking in. It took Jussi years at the club to get to the level he is at now. I really don't want to see the club experimenting with other options.

We'll never get ?8m. He's out of contract next summer.

my only concern with this is if there is transfer talk all through january window it could unsettle him for rest of season, we saw what it did to ben haim, IMO he lost his way from January with the chelsea rumours, we just about coped. but in Jussi we dont have a good enough back up if becomes unsettled and loses his way.

For me he is over rated.

 

Granted shot stopping and one-on-one situation he is good.

 

As mentioned above, his kicking is shite, he rarely comes off his line and over the last 6 months he has been conceding goals that a year ago he was keeping out.

Not making mistakes as such but could have done better.

 

 

I for one, would not destroy the wage structure of the club for the sake of a goalkeeper. Anelka is a one-off - Bolton can only afford one wage of anywhere near the level The 'Elk is on. If Jussi is not happy with circa ?30k a week then he will leave next summer.
