October 26, 200718 yr These are a must That is a bloody good shout. Will raise some good cash for the Poppy Appeal funds too
October 26, 200718 yr These are a must Was about to post exactly the same. Where can I get one from? Hardly somat you buy when you walk into Asda, like next to the tins of soup etc
October 26, 200718 yr Author These are a must =D> better than wearing anything German army related - and money going to charity as well!
October 26, 200718 yr i F*cking despair of todays young uns I thought the same thing. Lest we forget...
October 27, 200718 yr i F*cking despair of todays young uns It's a fair question. I haven't seen one poppy so far, not for sale/donation anyway.
October 27, 200718 yr It's a fair question. I haven't seen one poppy so far, not for sale/donation anyway. just watched gary megson's press interview again on bbc site. he has one on. munich is 3 days before remembrance sunday so they will be on sale in many places at the moment.

October 27, 200718 yr It's a fair question. I haven't seen one poppy so far, not for sale/donation anyway. It's a stupid question, but I don't expect you to understand. The Poppy Appeal for this year was only launched this week. As someone else correctly points out, the game is 3 days before Rememberance Sunday and they will be everywhere by then.
October 28, 200718 yr Author Got mine yesterday, funnily enough it was purchased off some Nazi sympathisers!
October 29, 200718 yr My folks are members of the vets club and always sell poppys for funds to the British legion etc Let me know how many you want I know this is a daft suggestion as nobody will be arsed with the agro of carrying poppies to Munich and the collecting tins back home again - but 4,000+ Bolton fans all buying and wearing a poppy in Munich will look pretty good and should get us some good press coverage back home.

I doubt! They'll think we're only wearing them to antagonise the Germans.
October 29, 200718 yr 4,000+ Bolton fans all buying and wearing a poppy in Munich will look pretty good and should get us some good press coverage back home. Oh yeah, right Yatesy. Just like all the good publicity we got for Squidgy / Jumbo / Alex's efforts to raise money for the Macedonian orphanage. The gutter press chose to ignore that and splatter sensational headlines across the world about 7 Bolton fans being arrested in Skopje (you would not believe how many people have asked me about that since I got back to Oz!!!) A bunch of kids, 6 stone wet through the lot of em, apparently assaulted a 6 foot four stromtroopper with a baton and an Uzi. If you are reading this lads - your notoriety has reached Australia
October 29, 200718 yr Pardon my screaming ignorance, but do the German's do something similar? Yes and No.............. As far as I know, they don't have Armistice/Rememberance Day the same time as we do (11th November). They do have something called Volkstauertag(sp) which is usually at the end of November or beginning of December, I forget which - this is their national day of mourning for people who have died in various wars. I don't recollect seeing them with anything symbollic like a poppy though, but then again I wasn't really looking. Edited October 29, 200718 yr by CWP
