You May Mock, I Care Not.

Megson will do the business, keep us up, and finish in the top half.

He's got good players at his disposal, and has a lot to prove to a lot of people.

Can I mock you in January?

I still will try and lose my voice again on Sunday backing him though =D>

Certainly, you can hold me to it.

in every job he's had he's always had summat to prove after being sacked at the last place... but never managed to prove anything to anyone... and that why he still has a lot to prove to a lot of people.

You don't need to give me any reasons why he will fail. There are pages and pages and pages and pages already. I just like to be awkward. Baaaaa.

Trust me. I only speak the truth. Unless I'm taking the piss, in which case my alter ego takes over.

Anyway, I've seen my Doctor and he is happy with my sanity. Sometimes. He does say I should quit smoking. And w?nking in the hardware isle of third rate budget supermarkets.

It's those Korean socket sets and Taiwanese angle grinders you see.

But hey, we all have hobbies.

i find this really worrying but iam in the same boat as mr smiffs, no not powerwnaking in netto but on the megson issue.

i was totally dissillusioned in fact i was the most pissed off ive ever been watching bwfc but after thinking about it, reading ani's thread, talking to zozzy and listening to the ginger ones press conference iam slowly starting to come round. the guy has a lot to proove, he is hungry and this is his only chance to manage at the top level he will not want to blow it.

ffs iam agreeing with smiffs and getting inspiration from zozzy and i havnt had a drink or been on the crack pipe

Must admit, reading Steks, Anis, Jules' and Zozzys posts, I am coming round too. Nowt to gain by creating a negative atmosphere and, as Jules has pointed out many times, it ain't Gary Megsons fault. For some of us longer term fans, the activities of the board in all this don't half and conjure up a deja vu feeling from what the Warbys board was like through the dark times. Fook the fans - we have profit and loss sheets to worry about.

GM is here and we have no option but to get behind him and the team. If he turns it round and keeps us up, he will have done us a great service. The 2.5 year contract is the bit that has me most perplexed. I would have thought until the end of the season and a review would have been in order.

Anyway - onwards and upwards. Truth is that it's the true supporters who mean more to me than any player; manager or corporate tosspot in the board room and I know the hardcore will still be there any time I get back.

COME ON YOU WHITE MEN.

The tide will turn.

There is something about PR disasters I once saw, and it was basically 99% of all shit dies down within sommat like 7 days, but a massive percentage dies within 48 hours.

A good result against Villa and we'll be back to calling the ticket office again.

Whilst I hope he turns it around I fear that 16 months out of the game, more importantly as a Prem manager, as any manager I fear he's out of his depth! (I hope I am wrong) The Prem as changed since his West Brom days albeit he as a better set of players now. It's how he gets them on his side, how he gets them to play for him and how he keeps all the squad together come Jan!

I have come to terms with his appointment and I hope he can turn it around but I still have the view that Gartside and the board have Plan B in his appointment. Its a gamble! A big fukkkkkkin gamble!

Had me first positive comment from a fan today - loads of local Forest and Leicester fans slagged him off over the last few days, and God knows there's enough of them round here....but a Baggie - and indeed a Baggie quite well acquainted with the upper echelons of Baggiedom - sang his praises. Not enough to convert me, by any means, but we'lll see.....

Warming to him more and more, I hope he starts to recruit the sort of back room staff fsa pinched,

Dr in how to kick a ball high,

Dr in how to play darts,

Dr in how to become a tv star,

and a Dr in how to deal with darkies.

Come Megson bring back the good times

Where does this rumour come from that we have many quality players?

Where does this rumour come from that we have many quality players?

Anelka, diouf, jussi, davies, Campo are i would say quality...

the new boys I couldn't comment on...

speed once was...but still has a valuable contribution to make to the club...

Nolan, Gardner, stelios, Hunt O'Brien brothers...I wouldn't say are quality on their day they can be... but they are no means poor

Meite, Cid....I think they aren't good enough...and if meggers is as good defensively as they are making out, he will see this and hopefully put this right...

I'm hoping we are going to see the start of clean sheets under our new manager.

Anelka YES but not in the long ball way we play

Diouf UNDECIDED Yes he has lots of runs and tricks, but his final ball this seaosn has been awful and his goals atlly very poor

Jussi YES

Davies YES

Campo HARDLY Last year he was being hounded out, now he is a God again. He is the best passer we have, that does not make him quality

Nolan What day is this then? Not had a good game in 3 years

Hunt Ha ha, a joke right?

Stelios? You mean 2 years ago?

Ricardo Sorry, must go back even further since he was quality

If you look at our first XI, there are maybe 3/4 who would get a game at half of the other Prem teams.

Losing Haim, Faye and the fact Speed has gone old and Nolan gone fat, we have lost a hell of a lot of quality.

The dross we brought in over the summer did nothing to adress the quality issues

Listen Taff, on another thread you are doing a good job of praising AOB. Make yer fooking mind up!

Quality players - Anelka, Diouf, Jussi, Davies, Campo and Willhelmson

Good players - Nolan (if he ever gets his form back), Gardner, Meite, Braaten, Andranik, Guthrie, both O'Briens, Cid (at left back) and Alonso

OK players - Speed, Cid (at centre half), McCann, Stelios, Hunt and Samuel

I don't think we have any poor players they're certainly no worse than the other teams in and around us and i cant think of anyone at those clubs (excluding spuz) who would walk straight into our team.

anelka and diouf are head and shoulders above anybody else.

joey obrien, still has a lot to prove.

i still fail to see anything good about braaten.

and campo is still very overated by most fans imo. if megson is gonna implement a solid midfield, i doubt very much campo will be included. i can see a team built around gavin mccann as the ball winner.

and before anyone starts, its not about playing you most talented players. we need a balance. and kevin davies up front, not on the wing.

Frank, to be fair, I don't think we have seen anywhere near enough of Braaten or Willhelmson to know if they are good, bad or indifferent.

I personally have seen enough of Cid to know he will never make a Centre Half at Premier League level.

Guthrie, seems promsiing from what I have seen so far, and I would like him to have a bit more of a run in the team to see what he can offer. (apparently if he plays tomorrow, he will have played 3PL matches for 3 different managers.......which will take some beating)

i was debating about where to put braaten and willy but it's just my opinion about how they'll do. willhelmson especially.

but my main point was that our players are no worse if not better than the teams around us and that the other teams players wouldn't make it into our staring 11

I agree 100% with you

we do have much stronger squads than those above us, except spurs.

wilhelmsson is a cracking player, just needs a run of games. but then again is there room for a true winger in a team looking to battle?

As far as I am concerned, there is always room for good quality players, no matter what your league position is. All this talk about, you can't have a "skilfull" player because we are in a scrap is rubbish (IMHO) - if they're quality players, they should be playing.

I'm not saying Megson can't turn it round - stranger things have happened. But fans at the Kendal cup-tie were laughing about his appointment this afternoon (not knowing I'm a Whites fan) and the Football Focus panel at lunchtime were clearly baffled by the appointment.

Still Desailly did make the point twice that Bolton's plight is urgent, there's no time for f*nnying around, and the fans have to support the team and manager in the short-term. (OK, maybe he didn't say 'f*nnying around').

maybe, but at the rate were conceding goals i'd rather have a player who can track back, defend and stick a foot in (at the moment). i fear megson will think the same.
