But a better performance today from him.

Lets see in the next few weeks if his performances are the same shall we?

Well said.

Very well said. Hit the post in the first half to didn't he? Somebody said yesterday he ain't good enough and will get us relegated. Not playing like that he won't.

Get off his back and get behind the lad - we all know what he is capable of. Wonder what Nolanhater thought of that performance?

I`ve never doubted him TBH but like Dunster said one swallow doesn`t make a summer. He`s playing much better under Megson. Lets hope he gets back to the form he was on when he was on the verge of an England call up.

I will say this, well done, and hopefully this is the confidence boost he/the team needs... but he was poor for the majority of the game, in my opinion due to lack of confidence... the real hero tonight was guthrie, and also michalik who strengthend us at the back.

note to gary megson, you may have been a laughing stock, but im so far impressed, ask me again next week when i come back from Munich, Thats when I make my mind up.

longer game went on versus the massives on wednesday the better he got. glad he's got one and let's hope the team as a whole kick on from here. proper cheered my weekend up that has. listened to it on 5 patronising live - worst anti bolton blx i have heard in a long time.

The signing of anelka has affected Nolans role in the team more than anyone in the club, he is best suited to the little flicks and knocks off davies and often scores of them, when anelka is in the team he does not get into the advanced roles, davies also has to play wide so does not get the flicks on he would normally get in central positions, the answer is to try to get davies in a front 2 with anelka and get nolan along side, but god knows how we can do this with our lack of legs in the middle of the park.

One goal isn't enough to change anyone's opinion is it? If he goes on a run and gets into double figures, that'd shut folk up, one goal ain't going to.

i think you give too much credit to our idiots

i've been in favour of the lad for a while even with the slaggers and i even went as far to rant about it after the city game as people were still slagging him off but i think that today he showed that no matter who tries to have a go at him he'll try and get through it and it is unbelievable how much pressure a lot of fans have put on his shoulders it showed with his relief as he scored, i'm sure most on here saw his reaction on the tele, well done kev, keep it up, its just good to see that this might show SOME of our fans what he can still do, megson seams to like him as a player on, off the pitch.

He did play quite well yesterday and took the goal in a fantastic manner.

Doesn't make up for 3 years of lazy performances

Doesn't mean he spends any less time moaning

Doesn't make up for him stabbing Sammy Lee in the back

But let's hope this is a turning point (but I doubt it is)

Doesn't make up for 3 years of lazy performances - 3 years? last season and what little bit of this one thats been

Doesn't mean he spends any less time moaning - he's scouse and the captain it kinda come with the territory

Doesn't make up for him stabbing Sammy Lee in the back - yet again he's captain it's his job to air the players concerns. if what nolan has said is true then he can hardley be blamed for LSL's departure

But let's hope this is a turning point (but I doubt it is)

Do us a favour mate that games a one off

All games are a one off <_<

I thought he was very poor again yesterday. He seems to be a yard slower and keeps getting to the ball too late.

Great finish yesterday, and I'm made up for the lad. I think he needed something to spark his season, hopefully this is it.

Money on him for first goal in Munich now!!!

Agreed. Seems to be a yard off the pace, and a little slow with his passing. Took the goal very well the Nolan we know from a couple of seasons ago. Hopefully a kick start. But the goal was in the 93 minute and he'd done pretty much the square root of fook all for the rest of the match. If he can kick on from that it's good times. We shall see.

I'm not a Nolan slagger, but the game had passed him buy in the second half.

Good improvised finish though, hope that spurs his confidence on and we see the Nolan of old.

I'm worried about Jlloyd Samuel, he started off well but seems to be getting worse.

from that report posted elsewhere in the telegraph

83 per cent pass completion from 36 passes

doesn't suggest there much wrong with his passing there

if all our players hit a white shirt 8 times out of 10, we'd be laughing

That stat does surprise me - I thought he was more wayward than that with his passing. He's definitely improving, he's a confidence player (as are most), so this goal may be the shot in the arm he needs. He normally scores in bursts, so fingers crossed for Munich & Smoggies.

I sl?gged him and Megson - hope they can prove me wrong.

I also had a pop at Gartside, but I'll never like that smug f?cker no matter what he does.

people like you are called 'Munich fans'

i can get you a ticket whenever you want at O/T

We all need to pull together at this time not keep slagging players off when we get a deserved point away from home.

Well done Nobby hope you carry on from here.

i suspect the feelings mutual :pardon:
