Reet, it's bad timing but it was quite a few years old and the old boy has started to flicker and go crazy so I think it may be time to invest in some new technology, HD and all that. We must have some tele experts on here - anybody work for Digital Direct in Farnworth?? Somebody reccomend me a good tele, not too big, about 36-38 inch, budget is around ?750.

Ta

lcd at that size

for value and quality, stick with lg would be my advice - though ive yet to see an lcd or plasma that has a picture as good as my sony crt, unless you get hd

homo is the expert though

me mam and dad has got a Sony Bravia and that is a minter of a tele

idont know what your talking cost wise though.

Beltin for ?900.

Got it from Martin Dawes in Warrington, long story, but I'd advise not going there.

I might go back but only to drive my car through the doors and run over the smarmy c?nt of a salesman who told me the price included installation, but when they delivered it they did just that.

Avoid retail park places etc. Daft money.

Sound and Vision in Farnworth are as good as anywhere.

Did a lot of mooching and checking, see avforums.com for info on anything telly related.

plasma plasma plasma, every single time.

LCD's are shite for footy, unless you have HD

that sammy thats smiffs recommend is spot on (i have one :D)

ive just got a 42" samsung plasama and its the dogs a few of my mates got the samsung lcd's too i strongley recomend a samsung :drinks:

Get yourself a Panasonic plasma and I recommend Sound and Vision in Farnworth as they price match all the other competetors on t'internet and you can bob down to the store and pick one up from their depot round the corner. Samsung picture quality is excellent for the price but they are much more likely to break than a Panny. Just over 700 quid gets you this very decent panel including a wall mount:

Cheers for the advice chaps, think I am going with the Panasonic 37 or 42 TH-42PX70B. One question though, do I need to worry that they are not "full HD"/1080p blah blah - will it make a difference??

All tv nowadays is fućking sh?t as it mostly seems to involve that retard Russell Brand.

And as for the Christmas films, where was Zulu? And Jason and th'Argonauts??

Samsung 40" LCD, spot on at ours :good:

Buy from John Lewis they include a 5 year warrenty and they will price match.

Personally no. I had the same thoughts, compared the two and couldn't justify the 30% or so difference in price, because I wouldn't get 30% more benefit.

You only get the full benefit if you have Sky HD or watch HD dvd's.

Yes the full HD 1080p is better but only if you actually watch a lot of HD telly. Its like having a car that can do 200mph when you can only drive at 70.

I've just bought a 37" LCD HD Samsung for ?520 at Comet - belting it is.
