I'm never happy about losing anywhere to anyone at any time, or drawing at home to anyone but it happens thats football, get over it... move on

drawing to decent teams fair enough but not fulham with negative tactics

it's a fans opinion message board

Sorry your point is what? Lee was past, Megson is current and currently we are unable to score goals and win matches to move away from possible relegation

My point is that you can't target Megson when this is his first transfer window.

He has been playing with the shite Lee signed for us in the summer (with the exception of a couple).

He has earned points that has got us out of the relegation zone.

I'm not normally one to be all doom and gloom, but I have to say I'm very worried after the Fulham debacle and I agree that our tactics appeared basic and the substitutions seemed rather negative.

Jules

Can't believe he agrees with YW ;)

Yes you can as transfers are only a small part of Megson's job. I actually think he's done alright in Jan - especially if we get a striker.

However, tactics and general play starts from day one.

The football isn't pretty, but it isn't far different from Allardyce' tactics at times.

That was a success.

Allardyce had years to build his own team, Megson hasn't had long to use players he actually wants.

Thank you for pointing that out. I only have a small brain.

Be nice to see you on here when there's something to be cheerful about.

It's fooking Yorkshire. The manic depressive county. Still produced more murderers per head of population than any other English county. We need to make allowances for you for living there.

I don't disagree with a word you've typed there and I'm not slating Megson full stop.

My point is simply that the 0-0 result with Fulham was unacceptable in my eyes as was the manner of it.

It could well have been the same under Allardicio or whatever he's calling himself these days and I certainly wasn't comparing the two.

Megson's main requirement when he was taken on was surely to keep us in the division irrespective of the time given with the new players - Tuesday night did not help achieve that objective.

Simple as that.

Letting time dwell over Tuesday's game - with the players available I don't know what more Megson could have done.

If the chances the 7 foot giant had, had fallen to a Nolan or Taylor then we would have won 2-0 and the crap performance would have been forgotten about.

He took off the 2 players most likely to deliver a killer ball in Guthrie & Taylor.

He took off Joey O'B at half time (was he injured) who was mopping up things and getting involved far more than Nolan and Mccann.

He is also responsible for the way the team plays in terms of tactics - we gave Davies very little support which meant we didn't keep the ball for anything like long enough.

Megson cannot be judged until at least beginning of next season when he has had a full summer/pre season and time to bring in his own regime, players etc. Anybody who doesnt agree can fuckk off and support Newcastle.

Don't talk shite, he can be judged by his ability to keep us in this league.

I'm not saying he should be sacked if he doesn't but he can still be judged on it.

If we end up finishing 10th would you say Megson's done really well or that he cannot be judged still?

As for your last comment. COCK

taylor came off before he collapsed and guthrie couldn't beat an egg on tuesday nevermind a defender.

We were most likely to score from a set piece and both of these deliver the best from what we had on the pitch.

Jules some people on here are blinded by a trip to Madrid and are in denial, it'll only hit em when we may possibly get relegated due to the negativity of Megson to play 1 striker up front at home to the likes of Fulham and pulling off his attacking threats when Stelios was sat at home with his feet up watching the box, same again at Reading on Sat a game we can win and won't due to negative tactics.

Look we are after a striker, its not Megson's fault, if no fooker worth having wants to come.

do you know that for a fact? could stelios not have been injured?

we played pretty much the same formation we have done all season only without diouf and anelka it isn't as effective.

im glad im off to work now and dont get home till 10 because by the time i get to see a news report or anything about transfers it will be midnight and it will either be done or not

So were you happy with Tuesday?

And if not, where does the blame lie?

We praise Megson when he gets it right, we have the right to criticise him when it's poor.

no i wasn't happy with it although i ended up laughing about it as bothe theams were awful and wouldn't have score if they were still playing now!

But for me the blame lies with Lee for signing half a million solid hardworking centre midfielders during the summer and no decent forwards. OK Megson should've signed somebody by now but who? i've no doubt behind the scenes BWFc have been working their bollocks off trying to sign a forward or 2.

I'm struggling to get this through Frank, but I'm not criticising Megson in the transfer market and certainly not saying Lee is blameless

BUT

The fact remains that with the players at our disposal and especially with those that started the game, we SHOULD have had the ability to beat a very poor and lacking confidence Fulham team.

That group of players are capable of playing much better football than that and when they don't the players along with the Manager carry the can for the performance and the result.

Why is Megson immune from justified criticism, just because he's not been in the job long and inherited a side from Sammy Lee?

As is said many times once those players are on that pitch it's down to them, we had the chances, more than we've had for a long time to be honest

3 for Michalik

1 for Cohen

JOB had one

As did AOB

Steinsson had one in the first half plus he fired a cross about an inch in front of taylors toe

thats 8 without really thinking, if just one of them had gone in we wouldn't be having this conversation, if anelka had been playing we definately wouldn't be having this conversation even a Super John style goal poacher would've won us the match on tuesday.

the chances are being created so the tactics work it's down to the players to put the ball in the net!

Megson's record isn't brilliant admittedly, but his return of 17 pts from 14 games equates to 29 points for the 24 games we've played.

That would put us 11th at present, which most on here would settle for.

:good:

Good call pal..
