March 20, 200818 yr does the ref actually have to make a report about the game - in which he can clarify why it was ruled out? Wiley's betting slip: MU 2-0 win Ronaldo last goal scorer
March 20, 200818 yr Diouf's freekick that went in: Would he have disallowed a quickly taken free kick if it was Ronaldo taking it for United in front of the Stretford End?
March 20, 200818 yr Diouf's freekick that went in: Would he have disallowed a quickly taken free kick if it was Ronaldo taking it for United in front of the Stretford End? Wouldn't fookin surprise me if he didn't
March 20, 200818 yr Diouf's freekick that went in: Would he have disallowed a quickly taken free kick if it was Ronaldo taking it for United in front of the Stretford End? guess it would depend on if he's told them to wait for the whistle or not, maybe
March 20, 200818 yr guess it would depend on if he's told them to wait for the whistle or not, maybe Sat right in line, and the ref clearly told Taylor and Diouf to wait for his wistle after they rejected the chance for a quick free kick. Not too sure on the Stelios one, looked like bit of a nothing foul just before he scored.
March 20, 200818 yr the diouff one had to be disallowed, the fact is that if he had waited for the whistle keeper probably would nt have saved it. having said that ehd had his best game for a while last night. the stelios goal should have stood.
March 20, 200818 yr Author Not too sure on the Stelios one, looked like bit of a nothing foul just before he scored. from the back, Davies is definitely getting shoved.
March 20, 200818 yr from the back, Davies is definitely getting shoved. So we should have had a pen then
March 20, 200818 yr Diouf's freekick that went in: Would he have disallowed a quickly taken free kick if it was Ronaldo taking it for United in front of the Stretford End? Why was he allowing free kicks to be taken quickly when the ball was near the United penalty area, allowing them to break quickly. A free kick should either have a whistle or not, end of. The fouled team should always have an advantage.

The fouled team should always have an advantage. lets not blame the ref for correctly enforcing the rules ffs. any free kick where the defence is lining a wall up the attacking team can ask to take quickly or ensure the wall is back the full ten yards. if people do not know the rules/laws/principles by which the game is run i wonder what they spend their saturdayss/sundays/mondays watching
March 20, 200818 yr Would he have disallowed a quickly taken free kick if it was Ronaldo taking it for United in front of the Stretford End? I've noticed over the last few games, if we try to take a quick free kick (no matter where it is) the referees are blowing us back. We're either doing something wrong or they're all against us.

We're either doing something wrong or they're all against us. I noticed this too, pulling us up and making us re-take a free kick from a yard further back ffs, but when we played Liverpoo at home, everytime they got a throw-in it was taken from 10 yards further up the line!

Some of them take longer than American football to organise. The attacking team shouldn't have to wait till the defence is organised. They should be able to take it when they want.
March 20, 200818 yr we can learn from united no quick free kicks taken against them cos a bloke stands on the ball maybe if we did that, the ball would be kicked against our mon resulting in a yellow card, though
March 21, 200818 yr I'll accept that the ref did show EHD the whistle in a kind of "Don't take the kick yet I've got to walk 10 yards towards the goal to ensure the red filth don't stand their wall closer to you than the rules allow" kind of way. He then, however, once said wall had been positioned, took a f?oking eternity. I'd say the wall had been lined up so, whistle or not, EHD took the free kick.
