Growing up in Walkden in the early 80s, me and a gang of teenage mates would get the bus to Burnden on a Saturday, Other mates would go the other way to Old Traford to watch the rags. They weren't bad lads, they were the children of the Salford overspill which came to Walkden / LH in the 60s / 70s. Supported their team just like we supported ours. We would mob up at Unit 4 pictures on a Sunday to watch crap films and cause mayhem... Happy days. Don't mind proper Manc / Salford Manure fans, the ones from elsewhere rack me off good style.

Don't disagree with that mate. Mind you, I'm technically a Bolton fan from Manchester, apparently, being from Walkden! Although both sets of parents are from Farnworth. And my lad is born and bred in Leeds, 14 years old and has been going to Bolton since he was 4. Is he OK, or what? To be fair, Leeds were in the champs league when he started going to Bolton, but he still chose the Wandererers because of the family connection. Not that he had a lot of choice, but he loves it, went to Madrid with me, eats and sleeps Bolton.

Won't be long before the social are knocking at the door.
