E-bay Bidding, Etc

Ok, found tickets on E-Bay for Raconteurs in Liverpool this Thursday.

22hrs left. Bid price ?0.99 per ticket - seller has 4 tickets. 0 bids so far.

what's the best tactic to secure these tickets without breaking the bank?

if he's bought with a credit card and the venue want proof - what happens?

Make sure your on-line at 8.20 tomorrow. If the price is still .99 have a bid at something like a tenner. Keep refreshing the page so you get an accurate 'time left' clock.

hey smiley you still got your tickets for the echo arena at the end of the month going spare?

My advice is, put your top price in now, no one else knows it who'll be bidding. Don't look back, don't up it, just keep to your top price.

HTH

Link not working but seen the tickets as i was on ebay anyway...

His feedback is okay..tickets seem to be the thing he sells.

Says pick up locally and location is Brighton ?!!!!

But sure it then says pick up from box office...as long as its the liverpool one you should be reet. Just send him a message via ebay about it.

By the way, I've just bid ?30. good luck.

only want 2. will take all 4 if have to.

I thought the location bit was a iffy - but then it says from ticket office.

Can you put in a staged bid where once someone bids more than you, your bid automatically goes up?

Good lord, you are new to this: Go into your ebay, it explains how you do that.

Yes- you enter your maximum bid - if the current winning bidder has entered a maximum bid higher than the current bid, these will trade off until one outbids the other. If two identical bids are received, the one placed first wins.

bid increments start off at 20p, then afer a certain value increase to 50p. it's usually worthwhile to bid a few pence over a 50p value or pound value, ie. 19.57 or 23.08, as a lot of people will overbid by just a penny, ie. 19.51 or 23.01

As NB said..

Put your low bid in, then put your max bid in

If someone makes a bid less than your max, yours will come back on top at the next minimum amount up from theirs.

I have to register?

I have to register?

I'm hoping that was an attempt at humour and not complete idiocy.

they'll be wanting bank details next.

I use reminders on my phone when an EBay auction is ending and get in there in the last minute, that's how I got that 1p Kaiser Chief ticket.

You can also sniping software that will do the last minute bidding for you

In all fairness - with Raconteurs only playing 2 UK dates - of which one is London, then I'd fully expect the Liverpool show to be very popular - thus I'd expect this guy to get more than face value for his tickets.

So its a tricky one this, do I go in with a ridiculous offer and keep my fingers crossed? Or do I go in with something more reasonable?
