July 21, 200817 yr Author AVG 8.0 is now out - are they still doing updates for your version? Yeah, still receiving daily updates I am going to delete tonight to see if that solves the problem, If not I shall download version 8 I'm using XP and recently downloaded service pack 3 Could this be the root cause? Oh and I've been wearing a pair of navy blue gymn knickers all week but was hoping to avoid admitting this

Failing that - have you run any anti spyware stuff? SpyBot and AdAware are free.

If it's time of the month, you should know that you are required to put a pleated gym skirt on too! Schoolgirl error!
July 21, 200817 yr Author There's your problem. If it's time of the month, you should know that you are required to put a pleated gym skirt on too! Schoolgirl error! Really I didn't think I neded the pleated skirt as I have no intention of doing any handstands I've run a couple of spyware programs too and they have all the 'Cultural Attaches' been removed plus I've been talking in code so I don't think it will be much use to the uninvited people who've been looking through the keyhole
July 21, 200817 yr Author Have you tried the old stick you todger in the the fan trick? Yes I don't think it worked, but mysteriously enough, very soon after I noticed 3 pints of cottage cheese on the wall, Can't for the life of me think how it could possiblty have gotten there

July 21, 200817 yr make sure you've plenty of disk space left and that the drive isn't constantly being written written to. Uninstall all software that's not essential and defrag the disk. Boot up in safe mode (shift+f8) and do a full virus scan. you could also try a system restore as someone else suggested. If after all that you still can't find the problem you're probably screwed and will need to reinstall windows. Also make sure it isn't overheating - take the cas off and put a great big desk fan facing it and see if it still crashes (remember to turn on the desk fan). Edited July 21, 200817 yr by petebw
