November 23, 200817 yr to get off Megsons back? JAL Was thinking last week his time was almost up after he left Gardner out and played 1 up front at home but that was a great win at Boro who knows the guy might know what he doing after all.
November 23, 200817 yr Not yet time for Ginger Mourinho or anything but he's certainly buying extra time. Needs to be reviewed at Christmas.
November 23, 200817 yr he's here to stay and most of us may not like that but we need to be patient and not rant at his decisions. Give him the benefit, and i'm actually starting to warm to him.
November 23, 200817 yr Problem is, we could easily go on a run of 4 or 5 games without a win, then he would be "ginger tosser" again.
November 23, 200817 yr It's a cliche but at the moment we need to take 1 game at a time because at 5pm on 13th Dec we could be in a very difficult position yet again. Great performance y/day & win - + great performances from Elmander & Muamba Stoke win was a bummer on the day as nil nil was perfect
November 23, 200817 yr We shouldnt just back him now, we should do it all the time. Thick and thin supporting Bolton, good and bad Portsmouth fans are the best in the country for getting behind their team, i must admit i am jealous when i hear other fans outsing us
November 23, 200817 yr It's a cliche but at the moment we need to take 1 game at a time because at 5pm on 13th Dec we could be in a very difficult position yet again. I think you will find it is a "clique"........
November 23, 200817 yr Without getting carried away, there are signs that Megson's signings are shaping up into a half decent team. Muamba and Elmander getting plenty of praise yesyerday.
November 23, 200817 yr We also took our chances yesterday, we wont be doing that in every game. that is the same for every team, if cahill and muamba had scored with 2 other chances it could have been 5, the main thing is we are creating chances, for the first time in a long time. November 23, 200817 yr Author he's here to stay and most of us may not like that but we need to be patient and not rant at his decisions. Give him the benefit, and i'm actually starting to warm to him. Sums up my feelings exactly.
November 23, 200817 yr One swallow doesn't make a summer. I'm still not sure that he is a good manager despite a good result yesterday. At 2-0 up the fans were starting to shout Ginger Mourinho. I thought that was too early, Boro score a couple of quick goals and it will be back to Mugson (sorry NB) Out. I think he stays until at least the end of the season. I'm convinced that we will stay up. Let's see how he deals in the January transfer window and where we eventually finish. He could be starting to build a dynasty.
November 23, 200817 yr Problem is, we could easily go on a run of 4 or 5 games without a win, then he would be "ginger tosser" again. 2 games at the most.
November 23, 200817 yr I'll get off his back when we become consistent. At the moment, i cannot help feel that when we win under him, it owes more to luck than his tactics
November 23, 200817 yr I'll get off his back when we become consistent. At the moment, i cannot help feel that when we win under him, it owes more to luck than his tactics Luck that having been lambasted by many for not playing Gardner ahead of Elmander, he defies them yet again leading to Elmander putting in a man of the match performance? Or luck through all three (if the goal is Steinsson's) goalscorers yesterday being Megson's buys? Of course luck's gotta come in sometimes, but we've been unlucky at times under Megson and lost through it and he's been slaughtered on here. It's got to go both ways.

November 23, 200817 yr I'll get off his back when we become consistent. At the moment, i cannot help feel that when we win under him, it owes more to luck than his tactics Sometimes its better to be lucky then good On being consistent 3 wins out of the last 4 works for me
November 23, 200817 yr I'll get off his back when we become consistent. At the moment, i cannot help feel that when we win under him, it owes more to luck than his tactics 3 wins out of 4 not consistent? I think this was, roughly, the 4th or 5th game since "Megson's team" has been fully fit and available to him. Before that people(including me) were saying "give him a run with his own team before deciding anything".... This run with 'his' team has done well and the football has been better (at times). I see progress, I'm happy for it to continue and hopefully one or two more players can come into a settled side that's doing well in January. Sad thing is, a defeat at Stamford Bridge and it'll be back to "He's a mug", "Chelsea were there for the taking", "not positive enough" and we could win 10 straight - it still won't win over the people who will refuse to give him a decent go.

Na, not even the moaning fcuks will say owt if we lose down there, i thought it was at home

Before that people(including me) were saying "give him a run with his own team before deciding anything".... No, he's had everyone available longer than that. But not all necessarily match fit, settled in and in form admittedly. It's really encouraging to see Elmander and Muamba get the plaudits yesterday. Taylor scoring a few as well, the pieces of the jigsaw seem to be fitting together at the moment. Bottom line is, if he gets the results, he'll be a hero. If he doesn't he'll be a villain. It's quite simple.
November 23, 200817 yr Sometimes its better to be lucky then good On being consistent 3 wins out of the last 4 works for me Consistent over a season. You lot wanted him to be judged on a full premier season in charge, so I am giving him that season.
to get off Megsons back?
