The lad will be available for half what we offered come summer.

Cant see him being available for 7.5 mill

You never know, there was only us with a solid bid in this window and if the player asks for a move its quite possible. Wouldnt be suprised if Meggo tried for him again in the summer.

He'll be lucky to get a game between now and then. Rochemback has claimed the holding midfield role for Sporting.

I hope we do sign him in the summer

If Rochemback's better than him then I'm not sure i want him!

SPorting beat Porto 4-1 tonight.

Veloso didnt play, but Vukcevic did and boy is he good.

Poorstart by Sporting, but they blew them away after going one down.

I'm telling you, Vuckevic is the one.

Veloso and Vukcevic played away at Bayern tonight, they lost 7-1, 12-1 on aggregate. Veloso went off at HT, I assume for tactical reasons.

The agent of Portuguese international Miguel Veloso has confirmed that three English clubs are in the running to sign the Sporting Lisbon ace this summer. Paulo Barbosa declined to name the clubs, but reports in the Portuguse press indicate that former suitors Bolton Wanderers lead the chase ahead of Aston Villa and Everton.

Speaking exclusively to sport.co.uk, Barbosa revealed:

?We are in talks with three different clubs in England and we hope to reach an agreement by the end of May.

"It will be easier to tell next week.?

The Trotters publicly revealed a ?12m move to sign the Portuguese international in January and they are thought to be prepared to up their bid if centre-back Gary Cahill joins Arsenal. Newcastle United and Manchester City, who were both interested parties in January, appear to have dropped their interest with the former focusing on their relegation battle and the latter signing Hamburg?s Nigel de Jong.

Martin O?Neill?s Aston Villa will be in the market for a new central midfielder if Gareth Barry finally seals a deal with Liverpool, while Everton, who have been tracking Veloso?s team-mate Joao Moutinho, are still looking for a long-term replacement for Lee Carsley.

i hope we get this guy

Bolton Wanderers remain keen on Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso.

A Bola says new Sporting president Jos Eduardo Bettencourt is mulling over selling Veloso as his first serious decision since taking charge.

Bolton have made a new offer for Veloso, though it is lower than what they tabled during the January market.

Here we go again...

I think it's known as drumming up trade. Suspect we've not been near the fella since January. If we actually went for him in the first place.

Bought Veloso on Fifa and was impressed, well good on the ball.

Probably buy him on champy given half the chance.

This has gone a bit quiet aint it? Any news Tyls?

according to todays Sun Man City are close to getting him. Sporting want ?15m for the player. No way in hell Gary Megson either can or will fork out that much money on the player.

he only has one more year left on his contract i believe yet they value him at ?3m more than Gareth Barry. obviously as soon as they heard of city's interest they sky rocketed the price. never mind. would have been good to have a player of his quality.

maybe megson could reignite his interest in huddlestone if tottenham sign viera?

Manchester City and Bolton are leading the chase for Sporting Lisbon midfielder Miguel Veloso, who is valued at around ?15m
