May 12, 200917 yr The agent of Portuguese international Miguel Veloso has confirmed that three English clubs are in the running to sign the Sporting Lisbon ace this summer. Paulo Barbosa declined to name the clubs, but reports in the Portuguse press indicate that former suitors Bolton Wanderers lead the chase ahead of Aston Villa and Everton. Speaking exclusively to sport.co.uk, Barbosa revealed: ?We are in talks with three different clubs in England and we hope to reach an agreement by the end of May. "It will be easier to tell next week.? The Trotters publicly revealed a ?12m move to sign the Portuguese international in January and they are thought to be prepared to up their bid if centre-back Gary Cahill joins Arsenal. Newcastle United and Manchester City, who were both interested parties in January, appear to have dropped their interest with the former focusing on their relegation battle and the latter signing Hamburg?s Nigel de Jong. Martin O?Neill?s Aston Villa will be in the market for a new central midfielder if Gareth Barry finally seals a deal with Liverpool, while Everton, who have been tracking Veloso?s team-mate Joao Moutinho, are still looking for a long-term replacement for Lee Carsley.

July 28, 200917 yr according to todays Sun Man City are close to getting him. Sporting want ?15m for the player. No way in hell Gary Megson either can or will fork out that much money on the player. he only has one more year left on his contract i believe yet they value him at ?3m more than Gareth Barry. obviously as soon as they heard of city's interest they sky rocketed the price. never mind. would have been good to have a player of his quality. maybe megson could reignite his interest in huddlestone if tottenham sign viera?
