8.21 Gary Megson concedes Bolton Wanderers do not have the resources to make a renewed bid to sign Sporting Lisbon ace Miguel Veloso.

Taken from SSN. Ah well, the money grabbing barstuard wasnt worth it anyway. I trust Megson in finding someone better. I just hope its not Huddlestone!

Any deal for Huddlestone would be just as expensive when you look at wages and the fee

Edited by jimmyjoojar

firstly, would you expect megson to say - fcuk me, ive got money falling out of my pockets, bump the price up!

secondly, id fcuking walk to london to bring huddlestone up here

just what do you expect for us?

Given as there is no-one in for Veloso at present, i'm sure his price will come tumbling down towards the end of Aug

I wouldn't, he's overweight (sign of a lack of professionalism?),injury prone, slow and not particularly good.Plus overpriced as he's at a wealthy Premier League club.

Frank, lets not let facts get in the way of Holly's guff!!

It surprises me how much football these people must watch to have an opinion on every player we are linked with.

Huddlestone would improve us massively, those I doubt we would be first in the queue should he leave Spurs.

huddlestone is a fookin monster of a man. and zero is fat!

goodhead is excelling himself on this one

he usually at least waits til megson has signed em before beginning his 'he's shit' nonsense

ill give him one point - he's slow

so what - he can kick it straight

id have put that as an attractive quality, specially to somebody unhappy with our 'style' of football

Holly would have been one of those power wanking when we sign Braaten because he had pace, and a good youtube skills video.

Basically Megson says Veloso is a no-go - too dear

He wants a forward, as priority - says 'we couldn't win a raffle' if we had first team strikers out last year

If he gets a forward and possibly another midfielder he'll be happy

So will I to be honest

Perhaps we could sniff out a loan from City or someone profligate like that? Because I doubt he's looking for an instant first teamer up front.

elano just left for galatasary for 8m, that would have been a nice signing...

I could be reading too much into this but have City ever said they are interested?

Could this just be a case of Veloso's agent trying to scare us into paying over the odds? In which case the club/megson have played the game perfectly. "Oh well can't afford him then".

So in 4 weeks time we will be able to get him at half price because they'll be worried that he won't get a move anywhere.

Don't think I'm arsed whether he comes or not, dragging on a bit now.

I wish i was as overweight as him!! Theres loads of slow players who have been class (Hierro and Youri werent exactley nippy when they played for us). If youve got the the vison and passing skill you can make it any team imo.

Its not as if he's that slow, he just isn't blessed with genuine pace.

I rate the lad, but doubt he'd want the move up here when the likes of Villa have been touted previously

The idea of anyone overweight/fat playing the Premiership is utterly ridiculous. Do these people actually think players like Lampard are fat?

I guess the nutritionists, sports scientists and fitness people at Chelsea must be clueless then.

I agree, with the exception of Andy Reid.

I wish this story would die a death - 15 pages and we are still light years away from signing him! Let's move on.

One day, you'll open this thread and he'll have signed

How would he improve us 'massivley'? He's too defensive minded. We need a player with flair andf attacking prowess. Not somebody who can sit infront of the back four spraying balls left, right and centre!

I can only say Huddlestone in a Jamaican accent for some reason

Bored so....

75 kgs or 11st 11lbs according to Sunderland website!

Good Lord, I forgot about Andy Reid. Now I'm not in any position to call folk for being a chubster but blimey, I'm not having he's less than 15 stone.
