NW, fair enough if you have string opinions of it, but if they stopped pissed up ticketless scousers, used 21st century policing and stewarding, kept the fences down, halved the capacity per m2 than what is was years back, made pissing up someones leg a hanging offence, and still have maybe 70% of the ground fully seated for those who were still uncertain, would that be acceptable?

We don't even need to have terracing. We need the club to allocate an area of the stand(ie all east lower or whatever) and just allow standing in that area. That way it's safe and everyone will know that if you wan't to stand then thats where you go. I know that parts of the east lower do it now, but it needs to be sanctioned. There is a campaign called stand up sit down that is attempting to come to a common sense solution. As long as you have your own seat then how is standing in front of it any more unsafe than sitting down?

I've seen at first hand what happens on terraces and it nearly cost the life of one of my family. I would give up watching football if terracing was brought back.

 

There is no doubt that all seater stadia have helped to stop hooliganism inside the ground. Look at Italy and Spain - still have a huge problem and have standing areas (and even in the sitting areas, a lot of the seats are pretty rubbish).

 

When you've seen children nearly crushed to death, it gives you a different perspective. Given the history of our club, I think the welfaer and the safety of our fans comes first. I have yet to see a 'safe standing' area that wouldn't stop being safe if the mindset of the people wished it tio do so. But, hey, lets not think about that...
