The world I live in is one in which BWFC went from the top flight to Division 4 and back again whilst nearly going bankrupt in the process. The last time we got relegated from the Prem we had to sell off a lot of players and the parachute payments had ran out by the time we got back but we did it.

I don't buy your general argument that relegation would affect BWFC more than any other club that it happens to. I'm sure the chairman etc. have got a plan in place for when it happens. Yes there are a number of Ex-Prem clubs that have struggled but of the promoted clubs there are usually a couple that have been there before.

 

Frankly I'm not bothered if you agree with me or not.

 

The facts are that the last accounts state that we are ?53.5 million in debt and that two thirds of our income come from simply being in the Premiership.

 

The debt has to be managed whatever league we are in, so a substantial loss in income from being relegated from the Premiership will result in other means to service the debt - the most obvious one being the sale of players.

 

Derby and Reading were relegated last season - and despite the Parachute payments they failed to get promoted.

 

Similarly the three clubs relegated from the Premiership the previous season - Watford, Sheffield United and Charlton (who have been relegated again!) have not made in back yet either.

 

Nor have Crystal Palace, Southampton and Norwich who were relegated two seasons prior or Leicester and Leeds from the season before that!

 

In fact 5 out of those 10 clubs I've mentioned have gone on to be relegated to the third division!

 

I'm sure Eddie Davies is well aware of that fact even if you might not!

The money that was needed to finance a prem team then pales into insignificant to what you now need, hence the debt (which really is small compared to some) we've run up as got bigger and I truly believe that if it happened to use again then that will be use doing a Leeds and dropping back down the divisions and we would not getting back for a long time if ever.

 

The game that we watched in those days of Ian Greaves and Rioch does not exist anymore, is not a sport anymore it a business and until people get that into there think heads we are going to have issues with it over and over again

BWFC owe some ?50m, if they go down, they won't have the income to cover that, bit like you losing your main source of income in the middle of a recession. Thanks for support. I only owe money on my mortgage and have 3 different insurance policies to cover every eventuality.
