I really dont think Casino,s daft at all, quite the opposite. He knows what we're saying.

why thank you, russell :drinks:

i do know, i just don't agree

i suspect that young kids at prem clubs need the hard line

it isn't like your day

fcuk me, you can be made for life at 20

Does Megson rate Hunt?

Did he not play players out of position, rather than play Hunt?

Megson could be on here aswell, I reckon you are Megson.

Casino just says the opposite of anything that anyone says.

If you told him Megson's hair was ginger he'd disagree.

Sissons was pretty decent and should have gone out on loan last season. For whatever reason it didn't happen. A bit on the short side maybe (which Megson doesn't like) but a real battler.

Sinclair looked a real find when he first switched to full back. Questions should be asked as to why he didn't develop into at least a decent back up player.

I'd have kept those two on for another year rather than giving Danny Ward and Obadeyi contracts.

Horwich has a point. We've spent money on the academy but seem to have a half-hearted approach to devolping players. The hoof and hope shit that Alan Cork had the reserves playing last season did none of our lads any good.

I dont really agree with that. I know he thinks I'm a thick vegetable, but what Ive seen him post is pretty consistent.

On the other thing, Rob,s given up footy and going to study Law at Manchester Uni. Be a decent player to have in your Uni side.

Cork was on that Time of Our Lives sky programme with Harry Bassett and Wally Downes reminiscing of the Wimbledon days. He's an amusing guy but if he's the future of BWFC , then god help us.

Megson and his staff aren't interested in anything to do with youth development.

neither here nor there (I only say that to keep the megson bummers at bay)

but I am amused by the fact he gets them young uns picked up from lostock at the end of the day, taken up to euxton to clean the players boots, and then taken back again

bet they all think he's a right c?nt

let it go, man

has he given up despite the offers from wigan, balckburn and burnley or cos he aint good enough

He's given up because that was always the plan if he didn't make it with Bolton.

Thats true, he's quite happy to make a career in law.

Pity really, I do think that spell at the end of the season when folk now tell us there was nothing to play for could have been used better. Give a few fringe players a chance to get some experience and show what they can do. Lets face it, they couldnt have done any worse than the donkeys that kept being picked.

I wouldn?t be surprised if the academy lads spent longer on a bus, than they do on the football field. Fookin around going from Lostock upto Euxton.

Alan Cork is a toss pot. Why the fook Megson got him in, I will never know. He?d never even spoken to the bloke before he called him up to offer him the job.

What a good manager he is! 5-0 down against Man City and he hasn?t made a sub! He was too busy laughing and joking with city?s reserve team manager to give a shit.

Long ball shit! No wonder our reserves are wank. Academy coaches have them playing football on a Saturday, Alan Cork has them kicking it as far as they can on a Tuesday! Not filling the bench for a reserve team game, with fit players sat in the stands (maybe that?s a Megson/Cork master stroke) ? Offering shitty contracts to young pro?s (Basham) Offering 3rd year scholarships to most of the academy (Not many other clubs do that)

No wonder the people they are fcuking around with aren?t happy!

what do most other clubs do?

the good 'uns must be leaving in their droves?

Sad really that he didn't even make the subs bench at Arsenal when we only fielded 3 subs. What you might call get your CV up to date time.

The lad was an U19 England international. Remember seeing him about 3 years ago at Bristol City in the Youth Cup and he ran the game. A black mark for the club that he didn't get further. He is cleverer than most.

A black mark for the club that he didn't get further

The club's fault that he peaked at 17?

The world's full of lads who played and looked top at academy level. The people in charge are paid to make decisions, and they are better at that than you or me - that's why they get paid to do that and we don't.

Dont talk rubbish. Its all about sending out the right messages to the academy players. How do you think they felt after that? A couple of them could have travelled down with the squad and got some experience of a premier league match environment. Very much doubt they would of got on.

How many clubs never have any of the academy players training with the 1st team on the odd occasion? They arent even allowed to eat with them when they have to go upto Euxton (From Lostock) every lunchtime!!!!

Loads have just been to Austria with the first team so I don't know where you're coming from. Part of the reason the academy lads don't eat with the first-teamers is due to time tabling of their activities (so I've heard).

You sound like someone who knows a lad that's been through it and not made the grade. I used to know someone who was rated as a huge, huge talent at a (then) First Division Club. As a sixteen year old - deadly. As an eighteen year old nothing special. He never made it and blamed all the management down there at the time. Truth was, he simply wasn't good enough as an 18 year old. He was really bitter about it. To listen to him, the man who showed him the door didn't know a single thing about football.

That football manager is renowned at bringing on talent in the Prem.

Peter Beardsley could have done the same when Utd let him go, but he did not, he drop down the leagues and then moved back up again, its all down to that thing called attitude some have a good one, some don?t, they most to hundred of examples off this knocking about

If theyre good enough and they have the desire they will make it. If any of our youth players were good enough they would make it but at the moment they arent apart from Basham maybe.

What is this political day at Arsenal we are all speaking of?
