For Sweden tonight :yahoo:

Fuck Sweden he needs a goal for us to boost his confidence. Hopefully he will bag against the mackems on Saturday.

Should we all wear blue & yellow on Saturday then?

A goal in the park playing against kids would help his confidence right now, fingers crossed he follows up on saturday. I would rather he scored than any other player atm.

That goal tonight can only do him good lets hope it sets him off for us now

Spot on :good:

Wayhay, I've been bitching about him but it's amazing what a few goals and a bit of confidence can do for a player, fingers crossed

I really do believe that if he gets the service he will get goals, its just get the service that?s the issue

Im presuming Jussi was the opposing keeper tonight, if so, he's going to have very mixed feelings about letting in the goal.

i think its been a good showing from our players in tonights games. elmander has scored as has been mentioned (i'm sure jussi would be delighted for him, even if it meant him not getting a clean sheet), sam ricketts was on the losing team for wales but did supply the cross for sam vokes to score, cohen played in the 1-1 draw with northern ireland for israel, oman won 2-1 with al habsi in between the sticks. all in all a good showing.

i echo the feelings about elmander. hopefully that will be a great burden off his shoulders. he has now scored in 2009!!! he does seem to be a streaky striker so hopefully he comes back and can give sunderland the kind of performance he gave against stoke on the opening day last season

Looks like Jussi didn't play - Otto Fredrikson on team sheet.

oh yeah, i forgot he wasn't playing. it said he didn't join up with the finland squad in todays bolton news - silly me

also aaron mooy was an unused sub in australia's 3-0 away win against the republic of ireland.

i hope he can come on like basham did last year and break into the first team. he seems to have ability despite his tender years. i mean, he hasn't even played a first team game and he's been called up the full australia squad already. and its not like they are lacking in decent attacking talent (cahill, breschiano, kewell, even luke wilshire and nick carle) so he must have something!

maybe we'll seem him play some cup games - bring on tranmere!!

Jussi wasnt in goal so dont worry about that.

Good job he wasn't otherwise the mental scars would take years to mend letting in a goal from Elmander ha ha. Only joking couldn't resist. Here's to an Elmo hat trick on Saturday :drinks:

Haven't seen the goal but by all accounts he did everything he could to miss and earlier missed an opportunity when through on goal. That said, it bore all the hallmarks of a striker with no confidence at all and a streaky goal might be all he needs to set him on his way. He looked the business in the Stoke game last year and just went backwards after his injury. Fingers crossed because the player from that Stoke match will do me! Whereas the player we saw in the majority of other games won't. Perhaps weneed to rally behind him as I'm sure his confidence is still fragile. COME ON ELMO!! :yahoo: :yahoo:

Hardly crystal clear, but all I can find!

To be fair he got very few chances like that with us last season

First goal for Sweden in two years

Confidence from a goal must help the lad but as exiledwhite has posted - that clip shows an easy tap in at the far post and it seems to go in off the keep and post, hardly the finish of a man in form...

...but come Saturday I will be cheering him on for a goal or two against Sunderland, he's a Bolton player and they all need our support whilst on the pitch in a white shirt. (its afterwards on here that the stick can re-commence! ;) )

Should we all wear blue & yellow on Saturday then?

You know what, it sounds daft but that's just the kind of thing BWFC supporters should do en masse - show him you back him, as he's definitely a confidence player...

It'd never happen though as we're so apathetic...remember the paper planes?!

consider our front 3 last year was taylor, elmander and davies, they scored 27 goals between them.

if that happens again this season, by whatever division then i'll be happy.
