I don't see whats so wrong with McClaren. He shouldn't have got the England job but he did a reasonable job at Boro.

Everyone else on your list no thanks. Especially Jewell. Remind me what a fantastic job he did at Derby

If we must change our manager, I'd rather we went for potential like with Irvine at Preston.

BOOTHROYD?

The only half decent out of work manager is Strachan and he wouldn't come to us anyway

Why does it have to be an out of work manager?

Although I'm not a big fan of Megson, as long as he is Bolton manager I will continue to support him as folk posting on websites ain't going get him the sack.

The problem is people look at the Allardyce days through rose tinted glasses and forget how bad the football was at time although Sam seemed to be able to get the fans behind which is something Megosn has failed to do since day one.

If Megson does get the sack then Owen Coyle would be my choice as a replacement.

coyle needs 2 seasons in the top flight before he even comes close to being ready/proven imo.

He doesn't have to be out of work, we wouldn't get Coyle either, I'd imagine the compo would be too high as it was with Steve Bruce. I'm not sure Coyle would leave Burnley though, he probably wants to keep them up and see out the job.

?Some of the new players are having to cope with things that maybe they haven?t seen before ? in fact, they are sat in there discussing it right now.

?But that?s something they will have to cope with if they are playing for this football club.?

extract from BN today referring to discontent on the terraces - I've cut and paste this section but I don't think just reading that you get any sense of it being out of context - my point however is, it's another example of garys disasterorous PR. I can understand the style of play to grind out results I can understand why he was appointed i can understand why he's been given time I can understand his signings but why oh why does he have to keep coming out with this and antagonising the fans - we have got fans that give him dogs abuse but you just do not say that it, throws a blanket over everyone and he is simply confirming that his position is untenable it's infuriating we can't support him if he won't support us - what is his agenda why is he here I just dont get it?

what do you believe the reporters question was and how should he have answered it?

what do you believe the reporters question was and how should he have answered it?

The reporters question will have been something like "what about the discontent on the terraces" answer should have been "well they are disappointed about the first 2 results as we all are but we're positive we'll get the team to gel and start producing results soon" if he has to make reference to the fans then "most the fans support the team through thick and thin and thats appreciated by the players it's only a minority that have a go at me but I hope we turn it round and get results to get them back on board soon"

It's not rocket science - defuse the situation and blow a bit of smoke up the decent fans arses to at least try and build bridges - perpetuating this siege mentality between the team him and the fans is just ridiculous and highlights his limitations I can fogive and understand on a lot of issues but this particular side to him is the one that absolutely fucks me off and I think is the route cause to most his problems - the man needs to grow up swallow a bit of pride and give himself half a chance.

Sven?

You made this reply to Cassie's Kevin Davies one & still suggested Strachan. Have you missed something maybe?

Probably a bit of both.

Fans should be able to have a go at players up to a point, you've paid your money so you should be able to say what you think, up to a point. The usual stuff of "pull you finger out" or "you lazy bastard" etc. should be water off a ducks back - as a player it isn't worth respoonding to IMHO.

However, some of the more personal abuse that is spouted at players is out of order - I think the players should be free to respond to that sort of shite!
