Gartside's total renumeration from the past few years - just for the sake of hard facts.

2009 ?584,000

2008 ?296,000

2007 ?333,000

2006 ?271,000

2005 ?243,000

does that include money paid to his company for his time?

Your the one spouting "facts". Let us see your figures.

I reckon basham, cohen and the lad davies earn less than the great one.

I want to know this fact:

Does Vaz Te earn more than PG?

Where did I "spout facts" about PG's salary?

My use of the word probably should have informed you I was guessing. maybe those 3 players do earn less than PG, but I'd guess the majority of the squad earn more.

Over to you.

"lower than any of the players"

No need, as you know everything regarding BWFC.

It does.

1. I said "probably", implying I didn't know.

2. Who claimed I knew everything regarding BWFC?

So, seeing as that includes bonuses and 2 of those seasons were European seasons: what do you think his basic salary is?

So, seeing as that includes bonuses and 2 of those seasons were European seasons: what do you think his basic salary is?
Difficult to say. In the three sets of accounts I have, the figures are reported as follows.

2009 ?345,000 salary, ?83,000 in fees, bonus ?138,000

2008 ?132,000 salary, ?123,00 in fees, bonus ?41,000

2006 ?45,000 salary, ?215,000 in fees, bonus ?11,000

Perhaps someone who has the the 2005 & 2007 accounts can fill in the gaps.

I'm only asking for an opinion, because it is difficult to guess.

But, would you guess that his basic is below ?250k p.a.? When you consider the 345k contained some pay owed from other years.

Lets fuck Gartside off and get some pen pusher from the civil service on ?20k a year with 7 weeks holidays and as much bad back/paternity/study/stress/adoption of a dog leave as you can shake a shitty stick at.

Like him or not, the going rate in Britain.plc for a Chief Exec or a Chairman is in the same region as what he's been paid, more in many instances.

Get over it or fuck off to North Korea.

Tesco made a ?3 billion profit last year, their chairman David Reid drew ?675 k according to an article in the Guardian in 2008

Bolton is a fairly small business with a ?60 million turnover that lost ?13 million. How come we are paying him not much less than the chairman of Tesco?

We're going round in circles here.

I'm going to lock this one soon.

Just found the 2007 figures, which gives

2009 ?345,000 salary, ?83,000 in fees, bonus ?138,000

2008 ?132,000 salary, ?123,00 in fees, bonus ?41,000

2007 ?45,000 salary, ?277,000 in fees, bonus ?11,000

2006 ?45,000 salary, ?215,000 in fees, bonus ?11,000

I'd guess that they'd pay him as much in fees as they can get away with rather than salary, in order to minimise national insurance costs.

So, totalling the two you get. ?260,000 ?322,000 ?255,000 ?428,000

It looks like there is some sort of bi-ennial arrangement with part of salary/fees being deferred.

Still not that clear I'm afraid.

Whilst thier Chief Exec got nearly ?10m.

Boardroom pay at supermarket group Tesco rose nearly 18% last year and chief executive Sir Terry Leahy received nearly ?10m in cash and shares.

But what did he take in share options, how much did Tesco put into his pension plan, Big business as a whole load of ways to pay chairman other then cash

It's clear enough for me to form a picture/my own opinion, so thanks. :good:

We're all entitled to our own opinion, but mine is this:

PG is paid what Eddie's happy to pay him and Eddie pays the bills, so all's well IMO.

He who pays the piper etc.

Your wasting your time George, an exorbitant salary being paid to man who's best idea is to sell season tickets for under 50 quid.

Anything constructive to add?

BWFC is ED's business.

It's losing money, but he seems happy enough with its performance.

He decides how he spends his money. It's not our money and therefore not really our problem.

This is what my worry is

Sluffy has rightly corrected me and pointed out Davies is worth ?65 million not the ?98 million he was worth in 2008

With our debt at ?60 million it is servicable, at the moment

What if his business goes down the pan, or he is worth ?40 million in 2010?

We'd be in the shit and I mean administration shit

Granted he could be worth ?100 million next year, and that would be happy days, but the credit crunch has hit everyone

I appreciate and share some of your concerns, but the football club itslef has tangible assets that can be realised to make up any shortfall.

Messrs Jaaskelainen, Cahill, Knight, Davis, Taylor, Lee, Davies (M), Muamba, Elmander and Davies (K) would all attract decent money if we we're inclined/forced to sell.

I mean, they're talikng about Cahill being in the ?20m+ bracket on his own: that's a third of our debt.

Your wasting your time

next train's gone!

Leaving aside Gartside's pay etc, the bigger question remains - what is the long term gameplan? As it stands we're fucked whatever happens - and I don't ask that by way of veiled criticism of Garty or Megson or Eddie or anyone, and I don't even know if there is an answer. Maybe there is no feasible gameplan and we just have to wait for the inevitable turmoil - sooner (upon relegation) or later (when the unsustainable wages cause the PL to implode) :pardon:

I agree, there is a far bigger and more wide-reaching picture to consider.

I'm not sure if there is an answer, though.

"As it stands we're fucked whatever happens"

I don't subscribe to this we're in the prem or its curtains for the club bollocks. The club is over 130 yrs old, and will still be going even if we where bottom of the northern prem.
