To cheer you up, my mate in another 999 service had one of them booking their car whilst on a job, he wouldn't fuck off when told so they arrested him.

 

Once had one of the Stret Lighting Cherrypicker vans ticketed whilst the driver was up in his cherry picker fixing a streetlight.

I got one after Blackburn game. Usually park on Scotts/Harvester but as I went with my 4 year old lad I thought I would park on Tesco.

Anyhow, they give you 90 minutes, for customers. I was on the last minute for kick off and half an hour later the ticket was issued.

I wrote to them, saying I was inside shopping and the ticket was issued 30 minutes into a 90 minute allowance.

Not heard from them as of yet. Sure it's void now, as they have to reply to your appeal within a certain time.

Did they issue you the ticket there and then or did they send it through the post having used cctv?

 

I parked on there for the hull game and didn't get a ticket at the time. Heard nothing since.

 

Bearing in mind I live in east yorkshire, my car has a dealership sticker in the rear window that says the car came from hull, the registration starts with YY, so I would probably be hard pressed to argue that I was there to shopping.

My last company car had a Yorkshire reg & came from a dealer in Yorkshire, didn't mean I wasn't allowed to be a regular shopper in Waitrose, Sunningdale

I particularly liked the bit that said one of the staff members who had come into contact with the powder complained of a burning sensation on her hands. The article went on to say the powder was later identified as corn flour! Do you think maybe the staff member saw a chance of some compensation?

Anyhow, they have now responded to my appeal. Say that I left the premises. (So what, I wasn't exclusively shopping at Tesco.)

 

Say I have to pay the fine in full within 10 days or it will be passed to a debt collection agency. (24th February 2010)

 

I found something on there that suggests they have to respond within 56 days. (94 days by my reckoning)

 

Anyone ever appealed on these grounds?

Just ignore them. They are not enforcable in law but they will threaten legal action etc. After a few weeks they will go away

They play the perventage game hoping that folk don't know the law and pay up.

The problem is you've given them a name and address to send demands, final demands, threats of action, threats of court action to. Had you simply ignored them they would have had to send details to DVLA and get the address details from them. I don't think DVLA are allowed to give such information to an unregistered parking enforcement company.
