Not sure of the answer but the ticket office needs to rethink the current "open sales" policy.

 

The rule of "you must be on the database" is now being well and truely abused.

 

Supporters from opposition teams are getting on the database by buying tickets for games against the likes of Fulham and Portsmouth when we are so desperate to sell tickets that no or little checks on new buyers are made. These people probably won't even attend the game.

 

They are then on the database so when their team comes to town and they have no chance of getting a ticket in the away end, they are then on our "database" and can purchase a ticket in the home end.

 

 

Not sure of the solution.

BWFC's a business and is trying to make ome money. Why should they do numerous checks, thing is there's loads on Munichs with BL postal codes anyway. How about all those c?nts who watch in in the pub come to the game and so we won't have a problem in selling tickets in the home end?

ive been watching bwfc for 35 years but somehow found myself to not be on the recent database due to other people buying tickets for me on a lads day out, paying cash at the ticket office, getting freebies, etc

 

and as 1/4 of the united end was empty i dont really understand the need to `keep them out of our end`

Nail on head - our attendances are disapointing and I know that thousands have their excuses, but still disapointing. I wish TV coverage could somehow be blocked

I'm not arsed, i;ve sat in enough home ends as an away fan to take the rough with the smooth.

 

This thread was to point out how easy it is for supporters of away teams to get tickets for the home end of our ground, as a few on other threads on WW seemed shocked and surprised that we "allow" it to happen.

Well I've gone in the home end as an away fan. As I'm sure loads of others have.

From what I saw of them going into the "fanzone" they must have relaxed the usual corporate dress code - what a bunch of scruffy cunts!!

Was only in there because an old mate from uni, who was a birmingham fan, bought tickets for the game.

 

That said I nearly did hit the bloke in front of me as he kept calling us 'Scandanvian wanderers' that all northerners sound stupid. Despite him having a very broad brummie accent

i sat in the city end the night we won the 1st division championship,soon got sussed out!

asked steward to move into bolton end,but he just put us in the disabled section in main stand!!

I live in Sheffield and for the Shef Utd v. Shef Wed Derby game at Bramall Lane a couple of years back they made it so that to get a ticket in the home end for the derby you had to have bought a ticket for the previous home game. Basically they sold the tickets as a two game package. This boosted the attendance for the first game and also tested the resolve of away fans wanting to sit in the home end.

 

I dont think there are any fool proof systems for clubs like Bolton where tickets always go on general sale.

The club has a duty of care with regard to who and how they sell tickets. Just how far this duty of care stretches is down to each club's interpretation but I'm sure they'll have done all they could to prevent the influx of United fans everuy season.

 

They've decided that for this particular game you need to have already purchased a ticket through the ticket office, either in person or by post/on line. Then they offer cheap tickets against teams which wouldn't normally get the crowd's appetite whetted. I know for sure that, if paying a tenner for a match I didn't want to go and see would ensure my allocation of a ticket to a game I did want to see, I'd be there in a flash.

 

Maybe the ticket office ought to have a bank of around 50 or 60 questions, the answers to which would be known by anyone porporting to be a Bolton fan, they could certainly thwart any attempts to purchase in person. it may make the ticket purchase slightly longer but, who gives a fuck? I've already got mine!

 

How they'd get around the problems caused by other methods of purchase, I don't know, maybe they could make it "Buy in person only" that'd be sure to piss the Essex boys, Taffs and bog-hoppers!

I know for sure that, if paying a tenner for a match I didn't want to go and see would ensure my allocation of a ticket to a game I did want to see, I'd be there in a flash.

it's open to abuse but if the most die hard Utd fan is willing to keep an eye out on our ticket prics for games months before, buy a ticket, so he can get one for utd...

apathy probably wins here, for every Utd fan that did get in the home end, let's say that maybe 10 didn't, because they thought "f?ck that, pain in the arse for a game on tv"

 

it's just as likely a bolton fan got them the tickets who happens to be on the system
