I'm guessing he did what he thought was right. Thing is, at 3 - 0 down last week when there is little or no chance that we'll get anything from the game; THAT'S the time to experiment, not when there's a goal in it and every chnce we could get back in it.

I must admit, I wondered who was going to go on the right after CYL was taken off . . . and almost all Villa's threat came down that wing!

He's not the only one who should have passed the ball three seconds earlier instead of running into the outstretched leg of a defender. CYL, Wiess and Wilshire are all guilty of that on occasions. I realise that they never know which defender is the one who will stop the run but, quite often, the easy ball was not even looked at.

 

Too often yesterday, players were looking for an outlet ball instead of giving the ball a smack towards goal and too often a smack towards goal when a pass was the better option. Maybe this is why we're watching a team in a relegation scrap rather than a team vieing for Europe!

He's the most right footed player i've seen in a long time, he had a couple of oportunities to cross the ball with his left but had to come back onto his right and was closed down, even Robinson put a couple of balls in with his right peg.

 

Weiss may go on to be a talented right winger but i don't like the fact someone so untested and from another club is being given his practice in our relegation scrap i imagine Riga and RVT aren't too happy either. If it was one of our own academy lads and we were 'down to the bare bones' (copyright of Harry Redknapp) I could understand it.

and too often our footballers are nowhere to be seen when trhe back 5 have the ball so have resort to punting it towards Davies' noggin

You've got to think he's in the team because of what he does at training rather than the fact he's come from a big club and needs the practice though!

to be fair to coyle, he's without 4 folk who would be at least subs (hoden, davis, davies and basham) but that bench yesterday was megsonesque

i know holden has only played one game for us, but based on what i saw he'd play before a good few of the current squad.

 

at the moment i don't think Taylor is good enough to start and he certainly isn't a player i think would change the game by coming off the bench. maybe weiss does need a run, but we are running out of games and we certainly don't have games to experiment. Elmander tries bloody hard but hasn't offered much up front for a while now, klasnic wasnt brilliant when he came on , but he still looks more like an attacking threat than elmander.

Of course Taylor is good enough. Thats not even questionable.

the fact lcy stayed on the pitch so long and that skd was kept on longere than elmander can only be based on past performances becuase both were shite yesterday.

Maybe Weiss does need a run, but we are running out of games and we certainly don't have games to experiment.

 

If we are giving someone a run as opposed to a ready made contributor (which any loan player must be), I'd sooner give it to one of our own.

 

He'll be back at City and his run will benefit no-one but them.

 

Weiss has the basic problem that he never looks up so he doesn't know where any of his own team mates are.

 

I'd sooner have RVT or dare I say it Harsanyi on the wing.

 

Our best forward at crossing is Ward at Swindon albeit with his left foot.

 

Can't imagine that any of those three would contribute less than Weiss who is also crap defensively.

Exactly. We've no time to give Weiss match practise if he isn't delivering anything.

We'd no pace and no pacy player is even on the bench - to attack or to cover back. At home. Against a team with oodles (a technical term) of pace.

And where's Gardner - is he injured (again) ?

This must have been our worst season for a while for injuries and generally unfit players.

You'd imagine Taylor, with his experience, would be invaluable in a relegation scrap. But he seems to have a severe attitude problem.

Elmander as an attacking midfielder ? Releasing other options up front ? Could it be worse then what we're seeing ?

He definately has not been good enough this season - constant playing him in the first half of the season has cost us dearly. IMO he has been our worse (regular) player. I dont include J Lloyd in that
