im voicing my opinion about a shit player that is pinching a wage. As long as i dont do it at the game, which i dont, whats the problem. These sites are for people to have their views. I am not a fan who blindy supports or backs players just cos they play for bolton. Robinson is a load of shite not good enough for this division, if you cant see that your either a blinkered bias bolton fan or just plain clueless.

 

As long as i pay my money for a season ticket, i'll continue to call the toss players toss on sites like this as this is where i can get it off my chest as it serves no purpose doing it at the game (and doesnt help the team)

As samuel is garbage as well all hes doing at the moment is picking crap player before crap player. I have faith in Coyle to sort it in the summer. Alot of people on here seem to think full backs arent a problem position, im confident though that come the first day of next season neither samuel or robinson will be in that first 11

FYI Robinson played very well for most of the game. In fact when when lennon came on, he had to switch sides because he couldn't get anything against robbo.

Just watched it on Football First. (Sky+)

 

Robinson didn't foul anyone. The player ran across him.

 

And in any case, how mach, after the foul, had gone on? Jussi save, short corner, pass across front edge of area, shoot, ball ended up in net. More often than not it would have finished in row Z.

All the clubs have problems with full backs as they always get the blame when the cross comes in that leads to a goal. They all rave about Gareth Bale and Ashley Cole but as defenders both of them are actually poor at defending; they look good with their pace and attacking play.

 

Thought Robinson had a decent game yesterday but I do agree he is not premiership quality; he is the best of a very bad bunch we have at Bolton.

I thought Robinson had a good game. I thought the MOTD highlights were their usual gash with no credit whatsoever for what I thought (as someone who attended the game)was agood attacking game.Robinson DID NOT foul him nor did he warrant the yellow card.

I think this thread is a good example of why someone should watch the whole game prior to posting an opinion.

Jimmy Philips is a legend, i thought you were a numpty before that post but you've just proved it beyond all doubt.

Was he a good footballer though?

One of thw worst, ability wise, that was a regular starter in the team since i started going in 1994. Not seen many worse. Granted i havent been around for the "bad days" of division 4. i can only judge what ive seen.

 

A centre half to "challenge" knight and cahill - we need to spend our cash on improving the team before we worry about improving the squad. I dont thin think the centre mid area is that bad, although i wouldnt mind another good one it depends on cash.

He wont be that far off the squad now i dont reckon - lost a load of weight. always had ability. Wont make the 23 squad but i bet hes on the "long" list or whatever it is

 

I only called my post motd highlights as thats where i saw the incident. i didnt see the game. Granted by the response and reading the paper he didnt have that bad of the game. I stand by my comments he aint good enough though, and ive seen enough bad games from him this season to suggest Coyle will buy a new left back in the summer. Someone comfortable on the ball who'll pass it on the floor and overlap (not play pitching wedge style lofted "passes" a good chunk of the time)

 

Hes tried them all - steinsson and ricketts at right back, samuel, robinson and ricketts at left back. i doubt hes happy with any of the, but we'll know come 4 months time

Fair point re three centre backs - i wouldbt be spending much of the budget on the position unless we're talking someone to come in and play in the team (ahead of knight). Assumption here being we hold onto Cahill, how likely do we think that is?

Yeh possibly, certainly good enough for us (bog standard average) - hasnt he been linked with INTER MILAN though. hahaha, madness, a bit like the steven taylor to barcelona rumour i saw last week. No way he'd come to us though, must be on a big wage too id of thought. We need to find the next Steven Pienaars and players like that on the continent. The guy who scored for hamburg midweek, petric, ive liked the look of for a while. Granted hamburg to bolton possibly isnt a realistic move. That said i dont know how wages compare in the two leagues, and they prob wont be in europe next year either. theres a few in the german league i like the look of.
