The point is why should the final be reffed in such way that the ref does more than he would in any other game to keep everyone on the pitch.

 

It is like when a player gets away with something because it is early in the game or the ref lets something go late in a game

 

and a slight foul just outside the box and one inside - one will get given, one will not

 

personally, wouldn't want to see a team down to 10 men in the first 10/20 mins of the world cup myself

 

though I wouldn't complain if he'd sent vidic off the carling cup final

 

so clearly bias to my own personal enjoyment of the game, but i thought he did the right thing for the most part
