Official Web Site

Went to look at the Official Website for details for Alonso on the profiles and found that he is not included. Also I noticed Danny Ward isn't there.

Quite a few League 2 teams have better Official Web Sites than us, especially for the Reserve/ Academy teams.

Multi million pound contract to provide a crap website, surely if it is worth millions then whoever signed up to it ensured it was a suitable quality? I am in the wrong game.

Every team outside the prem signed up to the contract about 10yrs ago.

Smart move by PTV.

Even if the site itself is run by ptv surely someone at the club is responsible for the information on it?

A couple of seasons ago they use to have a little bio of each of the academy lads, thats gone.

I usually check the website 2-3 times a day, just to check if there'a any meaningful info - as opposed to tripe from whatever players are on rent-a-quote duty. (Yeah, I know, too much time on my hands ....).

I didn't even know the Reserves were playing the other evening till I saw the result. I'd been somewhere else for an FA Cup replay.

The official website is a final call for any info ...... you have to check various other sites first.

Someone's doing a cr*p job on it.

The club are tied into a contract with PTV and it would cost ?M to buy it out. So top and bottom is unless someone splashes the cash, nothing will change until the contract runs out. The club know it is shite but the current staff just have to live with it I'm afraid.

It's a bit like when Gordon Brown sold our gold at rock bottom prices.

The trouble is I'd put my mortgage on it that whoever made this inspired decision is still on the payroll, like a shit player happy to draw their wages.

i thought it was a deal signed by the whole league rather than the individual clubs?

Simple changes such as:

*Showing ticket and match info on the first page on the day of the game would be a massive help.

*Prices for tickets on display, as opposed to opening a spread sheet.

*Travel info being more prominent

If the website is failing and not showing value for ??? could the club not opt out or atleast suggest improvments?

my biggest gripe with it, is that it's too busy, it's like looking through the window of dixon's when they have sky sports news on all the tellies. it's too much.

Not as far as I know. There's no way a company as astute as say MUFC would give away something like that.

Non-Prem clubs at the time.

Southampton, Coventry, Brighton, Millwall, Stoke.

All the same.

Hardly a comprehensive survey, I know, but I'm hardly going to check them all.

it was back when we were a football league club before clubs truely understood the power the internet would come to have, seem to remember citeh buying their way out of the deal.

Most of the football league sides have sites run by PTV.

I'm pretty sure a shit hot lawyer could get them out of any contract within days.

About 80 clubs signed a 15 year contract with NTL about 10 years ago in a joint venture. I think they all get less than a ?1 million out of it over the 15 years but got some cash up front.

Why anyone would sign a technology contract for 15 years is beyond me, and clearly those clubs that didn't join were the wise ones.

I have a subscription, only because I am guarnateed match commentary if I cant find a good stream when I'm abroad.

The content is not worth the money (I think I pay 28.99 per year)

The videos are a little longer and much more often than the free ones. But some of the "latest videos" that appear in the corner are over a year old, even though there are new ones available.

I have to log in each time I visit which pisses me off - it never remembers me and sometimes forgets my password, forwarding me to a registration page then all of a sudden I'm logged in.

All the other problems like out of date squad profiles piss me off.

It cant be difficult for a commercial organisation the size of BWFC to run a decent website.
