I agree. That bit just before the golf club, near that electric thingy is like the road to Basrah (I imagine). I've been going that way for ages and I still can't get the right line.Senorita Kerr has done a tyre in on that bit.

Are you not in the RAC or suchlike, been in a similar situation and they just picked me up and towed me to a garage.

the short answer is we've no fucking money.

 

the long answer is a political debate around the annual reduction of highway maintenance budgets whilst expecting more work out of said department. Year in year out an easy saving has been the highways pot, it's been going on for years and is only going to get worse. our minor works and local safety budget is going from about ?2m a year to ?0 (which coincidently would have paid for the improvement scheme I was looking at on the stretch of plodder lane from Bradford Road to Albert Road), TIF funding which paid for things on bus routes including resurfacing has gone too. PRN funding which pays for resurfacing the principal roads has been cut.

 

just chucking a bit of tarmac in said hole will last a couple of weeks tops especially somewhere as busy as plodder lane, but it's the best we'll get for a few years to come unless this Transport for Greater Manchester thingy (that no fucker knows owt about) find some money to give to Bolton, but the general opinion is that unless its in Manchester or designed to get folk to Manchester they won't be interested.

From Bradford Rd it's roughly 2/3 Plodder Lane and just 1/3 Glynne St.

After the winter we just had pretty much every road is full of pot holes or cracks waiting for another freeze to become potholes.

Same in this country, they call it "Consolidated Revenue", the reality is that it is a black hole.

Round by us there was a big mahoosive pothole on a roundabout, everyone knew about it and made do. I say everyone, but no-one had told a police traffic car (M5 type) who while chasing a scrote had to abandon the chase when his suspension had a catastrophic failure after hitting said pothole.

 

Council fixed the pothole that night.

I see your dept. has erected a sign at the town centre end of Folds Road; Access to Brown St only. Bank St closed for bridge repairs 14 Feb to mid May.

That's a lot of closure for a busy road. Does nobody in your office decide that a good time for works with such an impact on traffic would be during school holidays?
