Non League Chatter

A few weeks away yet, but this could be the biggest attendance Victory Park have had for many a year with it being a title cruncher. Come on Chester beat those Leigh stealing body-snatchers.

A date for your diaries, on Saturday 4th July Atherton Collieries will play Bolton Wanderers, Neil Lennon has said he will bring a good squad down

  • I'm very fair and even handed on this one. I hate both sets of cunts.

  • Said nobody ever

I didn’t see that coming. But fuck knows when the season is starting again, if it even will. Lots of players will be moving around with the semi-pro game being squeezed with the “elite” game playing then lower amateur leagues starting up again.

We aren’t getting a full season in so essentially I’m writing it off until August. It’s damage limitation until then.

We have told the West Lancs League that if we cant finish the season, we might aswell stop now. They had a meeting last night.

I think we'll get the Boxing Day game V Radcliffe Borough in then that could be it for the season,

Looks like 15% of ground capacity will be allowed back in tier 3 areas

I'm sure we will revert to 600 as was before lockdown

It was good to go to a game tonight, we had a friendly at Runcorn Linnets, won 3-2 after going in winning 3-0 at half time, a good run out for the players, we're trying to get a friendly at home next Tuesday IF we go into tier 2 tomorrow, then it will be our Boxing Day game V Radcliffe

Allowing 300 in on Tuesday night

Highly doubt it, wasn’t against bury midweek

Looks like we have to play Radcliffe on Boxing day, crowd of 300 and NO beer sales, how the hell can that work when people are going to bring a pocket full of cans, if we try to search everybody they'll either tell us to stuff the game or there will be confrontation, apparently it was all the southern clubs who voted for the league to continue - when they were in tier 2, now it looks like they all want to change their minds, the North has been royally scuppered

Was speaking with the chairman Tuesday, was trying for that game but council said no. This Tuesday would be sorted. Was gutted about the FC game biggest Money game and now only 300

Yep tickets for Tuesdays game on sale tomorrow for members doubt many will go on open sale

We were told that 'take out' means just that, take out of the premises altogether, out of the stadium, I think all clubs will be being watched when they have games as an easy target, a ten grand fine would probably see us and many more gone

Just catching up with the current state of play. All "trident" (Step 3 and 4) leagues vote to suspend until the next tier review as playing with no additional revenue means putting on games is not viable.

Government/FA unveil the 15% crowds entirely out of nowhere. NPL clubs suddenly start arranging fixtures for 19th. Radders are away at Mickleover, near Derby!!! Stalybridge were meant to play Matlock which looks fine to me. Full restart is scheduled for Boxing Day. Radders also schedule in a game against Lancaster.

The other trident leagues (Southern and Isthmian) issue a statement saying they aren't restarting this year and will give clubs 14 days notice, duty of care and all that.

NPL clubs start breaking ranks with the league, who themselves have broken ranks with their other fellow leagues! The NPL are being basically accused of not implementing a duty of care. It's pretty damning.

Stalybridge cancel their game with Matlock, their statement is talking about the end of Furlough. Who the fuck at Stalybridge is on that? The manager, maybe. Certainly no players. Then they are saying the league may not restart on Boxing Day for a multitude of reasons related to lack of revenue.

It's a fucking mess.

I am glad the West Lancs league decided to end. At least we know the crack and can still play some cup competitions in 2021.

Some clubs not happy, but a decision needed to be made.

Gainsborough suspended  season tickets.  Charging flat fee of 10 quid to get in said it's only way to survive. Seems a right mess all this

Mate in Peterborough watches Sports up there. Playing in trophy tomorrow and police are banning fans so FA saying its fine means nothing

I like Gainsborough but their claim to have 400 season tickets doesn't hold much water, some of the "attendances" are only just over 400 unless they are playing a bigger side. The only way I can reconcile it is they've given hundreds away to kids. There's no way on this earth they have anywhere near that adult season ticket holders.

Osset joining in, the NPL are getting kicked all over the park here!

Following our communication yesterday and having still not yet received any communication from the league following the Tier announcement yesterday, we believe the NPL should fall in line with the rest of the trident league and re-pause the current season.

Therefore we would like to formally request the postponement of the following games until a later time when gates can increase or essential secondary spend is allowed.

26/12 v Pontefract Collieries
29/12 v Runcorn Linnets
02/01 v Brighouse Town

Ossett United, Board of Directors

I've been happy to roll with the punches previously, but any intention of playing games at any point in the next month is absolute madness. Get the Christmas madness out of the way, see what Westminster are coming up with in terms of lockdowns and tier rules and make a considered, settled plan based on the different scenarios rather than expecting clubs to turn things round at a few hours notice.

I certainly won't be bothering with the Colls friendly at Mossley tomorrow, although admittedly this is as much to do with wanting to avoid any track & trace notifications ruining my Christmas plans more than anything else. Should the game on Boxing Day go ahead then I'll go to that but again I don't think it would be sensible for any games to be pursuing playing games at this stage, especially with only 300 allowed on.

Tickets purchased for Tuesday night
