athywhite1958 Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Colls are at Stafford Rangers on Tuesday night and they have asked Colls to not travel because we are in tier 3, they were asked if the team could travel, yes that will be fine, can the management and coaching staff travel, yes that will be fine, what about club officials and committee, we'd rather they didn't, what about any fans, no none at all please, but you have players from Manchester and Liverpool who are in tier 3, will they be playing, oh yes course they will. We'll see you on Tuesday with a full complement of committee and officials, we can't speak for supporters travelling but it seems like they have put a limit of 30 and ticket only (available online) Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Got visions of them sticking a dozen of us in a fenced off area without a roof 🤣 Quote
Casino Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Theres absolutely no need for fans, officials and committee members to travel Id say the difference between them and players is pretty obvious Id cancel jumpers for goalposts myself but while its allowed, why push it? Quote
athywhite1958 Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Positive rates of COVID is Atherton is 44, positive rates in Stafford is 280, Stafford is 3X the size of Atherton so by easy reckoning our rate is much lower than theirs, as long as we are doing nothing illegal we will travel as club officials Quote
Carlos Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 I didn't want to travel to Grantham last month, from Bolton in lockdown, to film a game. But clubs don't want to share their footage, think I've said this before. 260 miles out of my own pocket, 9 hours, entirely unnecessarily. Myself, I applaud Stafford Rangers (and any other club taking a stand) for taking the financial hit and asking people to not travel. It should just be players and staff for all games when I'm not allowed to see my family yet I can end up having a piss next to fuck knows who. I'll be going, to ensure we capture the game for analysis, games come thick and fast and it's not good enough to get it days later. I can't get my head around groundhoppers and such like carrying on, people sharing cars to games etc. I was in and out yesterday, on a gantry on my own, safest place in the ground! Quote
Horwich Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Went to a West Lancs game yesterday (well 2 as first one was abandoned) Saw a group of WL committee, all from Lancashire who had travelled to GM 🙄 Quote
Carlos Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 This is the thing, we are next on the list of things to go, why push it, indeed. They’ll be the first to moan when all levels are back behind closed doors and there’s no money to support them. Quote
Leyther_Matt Posted October 25, 2020 Posted October 25, 2020 Can’t speak for anyone else but I’m still going because it feels like the only shred of normality in my life at this moment in time so I’m making the most of it while it’s carrying on. I literally have more interaction going to Aldi. Quote
tomski Posted October 27, 2020 Posted October 27, 2020 Stafford don’t want 20 wigganers to come. I get the logic. Quote

Probably more entertaining trying to watch me eat shark and chips on my lap in the car in Stafford last night. They came wrapped up in paper rather than in a tray so the bloody things kept falling through the paper. Car bloody stinks now. Quote

Carlos Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 For me, fish and chips comes in paper, unless you have gravy (what kind of animal has gravy on fish?). Quote
athywhite1958 Posted October 28, 2020 Posted October 28, 2020 Just been talking to a lad I work with and he watches City of Liverpool who Colls play on Saturday, their club have specifically asked them NOT to travel to Atherton and from what he says the scousers are going to do as asked of them, he couldn't understand why I was laughing, they will be all over Atherton Quote
athywhite1958 Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 City of Liverpool FC tweeted, "we have not accepted an allocation of tickets (to Atherton Collieries) for our supporters as current guidance is to not travel outside of a Tier 3 area, any of our supporters with a GM postcode are allowed" That's fine but again it is only guidance and when they turn up at the gate do they tell us the truth where they are from, until the Government make the rules crystal clear they will be flouted and interpreted how people want to suit themselves UPDATE Saturdays game is now OFF due to COVID within the City of Liverpool staff Quote

Leyther_Matt Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 I know FA Trophy has been slightly different to the FA Cup that games have been rearranged for Covid rather than just giving an instant bye, but I’ve no idea how they’ll manage that with this one given two weeks isolation and the next round being two weeks on Saturday? Quote
Carlos Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 I think this came to light when Matlock withdrew, then the FA pointed out you had 5 days to play the tie so it was arranged for Tuesday. Coalville claim to be aware of the rules but when Matlock said they were withdrawning then they took that at face value. It's a clusterfuck. Most boring twitter feed in the history of football. Not heard anything from Colls (or CoL) but if they've withdrawn today then that's game off. Same groundhopping pricks who are nothing to do with any club getting involved, as standard. Quote
radcliffe white Posted October 29, 2020 Posted October 29, 2020 So far our game v bamber bridge is on but the pitch has taken a beating Quote
