Getting Over It.

Still not come to terms.could be weeks. Never felt so shite like this for over 30 years.

Still in a bit of a daze myself, I don't even feel like I watched 90 minutes of FA Cup semi final football

at the world famous Wembley stadium.

Suppose it might start hitting home this Sunday when I'm sat on the couch looking at my watch thinking this time last

week etc. It was indeed a very sorry day out

Preparing to get lots of stick about this but here goes. Despite the obvious embarrassment of Sunday, I actually found the defeat easier to take because it was so comprehensive and each player was as bad as the next. Cahill said they hadn't played that bad all season. I'd wager they hadn't played that bad since they were under 14's. But much the same as when England got wangered 4-1 by the Germans (only the Lampard 'goal' vexed me afterwards and what might have been), the 5-0 left me feeling almost anaesthetised in so much as it was over so quickly and I barely felt a thing - numb almost. 1-1 going into the 90th minute and losing to a dodgy pen would devastate me for weeks afterwards. That's my take on it. Perhaps it's my age (48). I think it's a little easier to take when you mature (not looking to patronise anyone). I wanted my town, my club, my team to be represented in the FACF for the first time in my lifetime. On Saturday night I was like a kid in a candy store thinking about what it might be like to batter Stoke the next day - or even scab that last minute winner. For reasons only the players can know, they fucked it up royally. As fans you don't get over it as quickly as they do. But on this occasion I have. And I think a lot of it is down to what they earn and the fact that there is so much worse going on out there in the world. I wish we could have had 11 Nat Lofthouses out there, but the game has changed beyond comprehension since he last played. Keep the faith. Maybe one day eh?

reet, as of this morning im over it.

bring on the arsenal.

COYWM!

still gutted.not looking forward to sunday at all.

but il be there

I would have felt much worse if we'd played fantastic and then got beat by a scabby goal.Disappointed? - Yes definitely, kicked in the teeth? - absolutely, but we'll get over it - as we always do.

Does anyone think its maybe a bit easier to take as it was Stoke - rather than getting dicked by the DMBs or Arsenal or Liverpool?

losing sunday was easier for me to take than losing to city or united in the final

and as i've said elsewhere, we've stayed up, again, so a good season

I will get over it a lot easier than our last semi at wembley vs villa when holdsworth missed that chance. That gave me nightmares for months.

I'm not half as grumpy today to be honest.

A 4 day weekend & a bit of sunshine can do wonders for you.

I am still shellshocked, Got home last night about 9PM and have been trying to get my head round what went wrong.

Owen Coyle and Sandy Stewart were in our hotel after the match and all the could do was apologise. top blokes both of them. We sat up drinking with Sandy until 3.30AM. They both said that they were at a loss to explain why it went so wrong

am over it

watched highlights last night

littered with individual mistakes and a naive team selection to begin with

can point the finger and demand refunds all day long

it'll make cock all difference

so not arsed now

I'm over it now. Bolton Wanderers have given me many disappointments in the past but I've always returned. Before the season started my take on success was a top half finish and a good cup run. We have had a good cup run and could have made the finals. We should finish in the top ten. Before Sunday I thought we would win, even go on to win the cup. But deep in my mind I knew that there was a possibility that Stoke would beat us. Stoke are not a bad team and are good at what they do. We played into their hands by hoofing long balls to their big defenders. There are lessons to be learnt from our performance on Sunday but a quick fix is not the answer. I'm sure Coyle and his team are working on it. Anyway win the next six games and that is not improbable and we could be in Europe next season.

Agreed. Not improbable. Fucking impossible! :nea:

Still utterly pissed off with that spineless performance.
