September 20, 201114 yr Russell & Russell They are a lot more expensive because they have wider powers Judith Bromley
September 20, 201114 yr I did this for my mum about three years ago unfortunately she had been diagnosed with Alzheimers at just 62 it cost around ?400 but that included the will too with Winder Taylor Fallows, although I would make a further suggestion that you protect her home is she owns it - we were not advised of this at the time and if we had put it into Trust the Government would not be taking it to pay for her care which is ?1400 a month!!! Worked hard all her life never took money off the Government and now she being fleeced in her illness - shit country! But then again I'd rather the money be spent on her. Good luck.

The Mrs & her sister have done something in the past couple of weeks for her dad whi is away with the fairies more often than not these days (though put him in front of a book of 6 bingo sheets and he regains his faculties), through Russell & Russell and I'm sure they had change from ?250. There are different levels -control of his financial affairs was done at the bank without any power of attorney, you just have to have their authorisation in person, ie. in your case wheel her in and get her to tell them that she is happy for you to have joint control of their finances.
September 21, 201114 yr With fees & vat I'm looking at about ?2500! ?550 a week we pay for my owd fella, lucky he was a tight arse and saved and had a pension or we'd be out on the street. The house is in just his name for some stupid reason and him getting diagnosed with dementia before power of attorneys were made has made it a nightmare. Grafted all his life, brought 5 kids up and it's all gonna get swallowed up. It just annoys me some are in there who's pissed it against the wall all their lives and I'm paying tax to pay for them too.
September 21, 201114 yr My grandparents worked all their lives, 4 years in Tenko, they still took their house and savings. The whole system is fucking ridiculous, had to claim Income Support then hand that back to pay for the care. It was almost impossible to deal with Bolton Council due to plain incompetence. I ended up writing to David Crausby MP and they suddenly jumped into line. Fucking civil servant shithouses. If you encounter a Bernard Yarrow, he was the most useless cunt I've ever met in my life. I hope he ends up in the same situation as those whos cases he fucks up. Edited September 21, 201114 yr by Carlos
September 21, 201114 yr My starting point was the " Help the Aged " centre , on their legal advice day. Obviously, it's their specialist subject & the chap i saw was well clued-up & helpful.
