My Bike Is Broken Again

Right I bought a bike here in clogland from halfords and the hears have broken twice within two 8 weeks. Is there any legal mumbo jumbo that means I can say "listen you cheese eating, clogwearing cunt enough is enough and I want my money back before I shit in your mouth"

It is a mountain bike and last time they said it may have been due to using it off road.....I pointed out a mountain bike should be fine when it is only used in a country with no fucking hills!!!!!!!

not sure what you have but many mountain bike are not actually designed for going off road.

But as long as your not doing downhill time trials, it should put up with a bit of abuse.

What the fuck have you broken?

I use it to cycle to work and back all tarmaced main roads apart from a ramp which is made of steel. Fuck knows the gears weren't changing properly the other week that's been sorted now it's happening again and the pedals sound as if they are scraping

owt over 18stone and warranties are worth fcuk all

chop a leg off and see if thats better

Luister je kaas eet, clogwearing kut genoeg is genoeg en ik wil mijn geld terug voordat ik stront in je mond.

Here to help.

Gears will need tuning every so often, especially If your rough with them. Ie going top the bottom and back again rather that one gear at a time.

Pedals scraping could again just be the chain rubbing on the front mech. Thats not broken, just badly tuned.

Avoid extreme gear selection, like top cog on front and rear at the same time and bottom cog front and rear at the same time.

Righto. Will see what happens. Gonna have a play with it in the hanger. Been pretty gentle with the gears like. Very rarely change em now as it's all pretty flat

is it a bike or a toy?

ie how much did you pay?

And the pedals sound as though they are scraping along the ground

200 euros Which I thought would have meant it would have been ok for a few km a day to work.

Try a different Halfords they might have better mechanics.. why did you buy a bike with gears? get a class single speed stolen off e bay for a bit more

Basically they are on top of robbed bikes here so I had to get one with proof it weren't stolen

I'd be riding more than a bike if I was in Amsterdam pal!

I thought you were buying a hairdresser's car?

Get a fcuking Vespa.

Sounds like the bearings in bottom bracket or the bearings in the peddles.

As Homer said, just because it looks like a mountain bike doesnt mean it can take the strain of off road riding.

anyway further developments. cycling in today the chain come off and something around the pedals as well as the guard came off. replaced the chain on the cogs and fiddled with the back a little and so far so good no problems. will report back later from the side of the road crying!
