My son was offered a job a week ago starting today. Last Wednesday they contacted him to say start next Monday instead to avoid having an extra week to wait for payday.

 

This morning he contacted 6th form college to say he would be leaving to take up this apprenticeship.

 

This afternoon his new employers have changed their mind and there is now no apprenticeship. Fucking tossers!

 

For the record, the company is Tribune ICT in Bolton. Anybody know who ought to be the recipient of the human turd?

I thought if a company wanted to make an apprentice redundant, they had to help find him a new position in the same industry before they could let him go. I do realise your lad hadn't actually started but it may well be worth looking at.

 

My dad retired a couple of years ago as his firm were trying to find their apprentice another job. He retired so the lad could carry on in the environment he liked.

Their 'Bolton Office' seems to be at the very self same business that trades as CFU Ltd, and we all know what I think of them...............

 

The London 'branch' seems to be a mailing address, the kind any dodgy firm can pay ?30 a month for to sound like they've got a swanky office but in reality it's basically a PO box number......

 

This firm sounds to me like it's a franchise for this tribune company based in Albion mill and at worst a dodgy cover for a shoddy firm, one which would probably only be after slave labour anyway - kids are better off out of it rather than being exploited (and probably end up brewing or sweeping up) for nothing. I shall see if I can shed more light on their directors which should also point to their MO if they are trying to put a front up.
