May 7, 201214 yr I know it was promotion not relegation.....but not many people thought we would do it.
May 8, 201214 yr Correct, it was the 2nd round we beat them in - then we went off to the 'battle of Barnsley' in the 3rd round. That was rough as they come I remember the police keeping the Bolton fans in after the match at Wrexham in the cup, so Bolton supporters ripped the fence down and got out of the ground anyway.
May 8, 201214 yr Nearly caught one of Robbie Savage's boots thinking how valuable they'd be. Amazing season, first away game, we took over Scarboro and got battered 4-0. Last game, we took 4,000 to Wrexham and unbelievably won. That's Bolton for you.
May 8, 201214 yr My Dad's got Andy May's shorts from that game. He never took me to the game with him though. Shit dad.
May 8, 201214 yr Magical day. Not the only pitch invasion that season though. Anybody remember the charge on to the pitch from the away end at Scunthorpe after the Ref gave Scunny a late equaliser via a dodgy pen? Police horses had to intervene.
May 9, 201214 yr We'll be walking round Wrexham with our w###ies hanging out!! What a game, more Sunday League than anything else but still!! It took me 10 minutes to get on the pitch, met half of the lads from our year at school on the half way line..!!! Never seen celebrations like it, nuns, nazi's, jesters running about the place...ha ha
May 9, 201214 yr Best football match ever for me. Still the loudest I've experienced under that tin roof when Savage's goal went in. 50 year old fat bastards who you didn't know from Adam suddenly developing the ability to spring like a Watusi tribesman and land on you from a great height- but it didn't matter. Still get goose bumps recalling Savage collecting the ball, firing it in and the ensuing mayhem Brill
