How Much Have You Spent Through Following The Wanderers

As a very conservative estimate,I've spent in the region of ?30,000 watching them over the years.

Had some great times, but was it was worth it ?

Featured Replies

I don't want to think about it.

But, yes, at the time it was worth it.

I think so, because you would just have that ?30,000 left over in your bank account, you would of spent it on some other shit.

i forgot to take into account the money i put into shares in the club in 97/98 when they were valued at 67p a share. now they are worthless..............they do say don't invest in one of your hobbies/interests,i certainly learned my lesson there

double that pal and it's nearer the mark :innocent:

couldnt possibly put a figure on it...

the euro trips will have bumped it up significantly!

drive to a lot of home games nowadays...and jesus christ i didnt reaslie how much i spent on ale on a matchday till i started! :D

did two ever present seasons when i was 17-20 and for the life of me havnt a clue how i afforded it!....

Once did 6 seasons in a row, every game home and away !

A bloody fortune. I was probably around 16 when I had to start buying my own season ticket so thats 22 years of season tickets now, european away days, beer, trains, wembley trips. Ouch, its starting to hurt even thinking about it - I could almost retire if I hadn't been going.

Don't begrudge a penny of it though

do we take brasses on euro trips into account?

double that pal and it's nearer the mark :innocent:

that trip to fulham must of cost a grand!

no prob pal, hope it was good reading :shiftyninja:

Living in south Wales it nearly ?100 per home game... Most of which is petrol average of 10 home games a season.. No regrets!!

Just once? What a shit fan you are.

Your talking ?30 minimum per game on booze and train fare for home games over 22 games (average per season) over 10 seasons thats ?6600

Then travel to away games / euro trips x 4 / wembley and then cost of tickets id say knocking on another ?6k.

Fuck me I sound like malcolm!

Wembley/Cardiff alone has cost a fortune.

1986, 89, 91, 95 (twice), 99, 2000, 01, 04 and 11.

Have I missed any?

Plus next year's play-off final, of course! :D

Somebody do me a spreadsheet converting past years' money into current ?'s value, and I'll have a go. Or maybe not.

Euro trips (incl Pisa) about ?4,000 for starters.

Wembley/Cardiff trips.

Wasted money on shares.

31 years off travelling up from London (nowhere near every game in the 80s - shit fan).

Seeing the Whites on every league ground at least once.

Decades of season tickets.

Nope - reckoning up would give me a heart attack.

are we including fines :innocent:

cost me my marraige

we have a winner ! :D

The wife reads this so its aprox a tenner, yes its worth it.

cost me my marraige

Joking aside I echo that although not marriages, 3 long term girlfriends. Most memorable was the play off final in 2001, when had to make her wait until after the final before we could go on holiday. She wanted 2 weeks which covered the final but I managed to persuade her 10 days and a ticket for the final.

Anyway went on holiday after the bank holiday Monday and when we got back she said its over because I chose Boton even when she was sobbing about wanting to go for two weeks.

I have not learnt from that episode.

You are always going away during the season - no matter how many times we tell you !!

Anyway, spent a bloody small fortune - but hey whats money for ? and you would have only wasted it on something else !!
