Car Insurance Payout.

Reet,

Someone bumped into me the other week and their insurance company have been haggling over the settlement fee for my car.

Today they have sent a cheque.

I've rung up and said 'woah, woah, woah, you only asked me to send you pictures of it yesterday'.

They reckon the cheque is an initial payment and they will send more 'if agreed'.

Are they trying to fuck me over? If they are my necks getting stiffer by the minute the cunts.

Normal procedure. Engineer will do his report, raise a cheque for a value he feels is reasonable. This is an interim payment. If you disagree with the offer, you need to do some market research, send it to the engineer, then he can decide whether an increase is needed.

Baz, no offence, but your car was shit. I'd take the cheque for your car if it was anything over £100 :D

Fair do's.

Market research as in a screen print of ebay or is there more I should be doing.

Also does this mean they are going to be coming for their lovely hire car :(

And check sites such as Auto Trader etc..

Post a pic of the car, and we can give you a price.

Just tell them you not accepted it on "full and final settlement"

Cost 1600 for direct replacement.

Was there 1500 in his glovebox?

I've been mooching round looking at different people carriers and I've been driving round in a brand spanking Toyota Verso in the mean time.

None of them come close to the practicality of my Spaz Chariot so I'm getting another.

You cant see what it looks like when your inside anyway.

Just tell them you not accepted it on "full and final settlement"

This is decent advice and tell them so before you bank the cheque.

Did they leave it blank by any chance ?

They have just rung up and offered 1500 which I agreed to.

He then goes, give me a minute and I'll clear it with my manager.

Comes back after a minute and says my manager wont let us go to 1500, and the max is 1310.

Firstly, why ring me up with an offer that you cant give me??

Secondly, it's going to cost them 210 in car hire fees while I spend a week going round garages to bump it up by 200.

Fucking imbeciles.

Does that include the whiplash money?

Seems like they're at it again on Chequerbent roundabout.

Lad at works brother and woman on our street both went into back of cars which slammed on when roundabout was clear over the weekend.

Both times there were four lads in the car.

I wish some 7.5 tonner would give the cunts something to claim for.

Spend rest of there lives in a fuckin wheelchair....

I would call them back and ask for a recording of the call.

I would call them back and ask for a recording of the call.

'tis a good call. Phone them, ask to speak to a supervisor and explain that their policy of making an offer to guage reaction and then reduce the figure is totally unacceptable. Ask him to review the telephone call and phone you back with his comments.

The car before was worse to be fair.

Worse than the 3 hours a day you spend on public transport?

Do they allow those types round the Howfen area?

Not many roundabouts on Blackburn road.
