January 10, 201313 yr Will my tablet play them? If not which app should I download. .. or should I just convert them into MP4 or AVI? Thank you please.
January 10, 201313 yr Author i told spaznob to get that fella he's more than a little simple, though I do listen to you, honest . Anyway, MX Player now downloaded.. and just tried the .mkv and it works a treat. Love ya, mwah. X
January 10, 201313 yr Can't do that on an iWanker etc. Get Mame4droid downloaded and play real arcade games.
January 10, 201313 yr What tablet have you got mate? them Flypad Ultras on ebay are supposed to be fantastic for the money
January 10, 201313 yr I've got an A100. Bought just before they quadrupled the power and halved the price.
January 11, 201313 yr Can't do that on an iWanker etc. clearly, there are some advantages to apple stuiff but for what i want to do, the nexus is so much more flexible it took a while to begin using it properly, but now i am, i'd not be without it
January 11, 201313 yr In fairness, the iwank is a better product in terms of usability, as the software only supports a handful of devices. But their narrow mindedness re running Flash, playing avi files etc. is a massive own goal.
January 11, 201313 yr So, I have a iPad from/for work ( yes I know I'm an iPad work wanker ) , but if I was to buy myself a new toy tablet, which should I get and why?
January 11, 201313 yr It depends what you want it for really. Spaznob is happy as his has HDMI out so he can take it to his secret birds and play anything off an SD card. The Nexus is highly rated but doesn't do that but at £159 is well priced. I mainly use mine to watch dodgy football, play classic arcade games and prop it on the taps and watch TV in the bath.

My main use for it, so far, is connecting it to a telly. I've got a 32gb SD card in it now so I can load it up with filums, TV shows and music The Netflix I used to only now be able to access via Xbox live is now on the tablet, so again I can go anywhere (as long as they've got wi-fi), HDMI into telly and away I go again. ... of course there's the obvious web (porn) browsing, but that's a given. I reckon I've barely begun to scratch the surface of what I can do with it yet though. ... ahh, actually I've got another question. Reet, when I attach it via usb to a computer it's really (fucking annoyingly) hit and miss as to whether the computer will recongnise it. After unplugging the tablet time and time again it will eventually recognise it. Seems a bit too random for my liking. Any ideas what the problem is? Dodgy lead maybe?? This problem occurs on both my home PC and my works laptop, with no rhyme or reason as to why. Edited January 11, 201313 yr by DazBob
January 11, 201313 yr My XP machine didn't like it. I've updated to Windows 7 and it's fine. The Vista one downstairs works too. Try a different cable, they are about £18 from Maplin...
January 11, 201313 yr Author Just bought a USB micro SD card reader for a quid. Hopefully should just be copy stuff directly to and from PC to/from SD card rather than having to keep fucking about trying to make the PC recognise the tablet is attached to it.

January 11, 201313 yr Author A whole quid? It'll be top quality and will offer 100% reliability, no doubt. I'm hoping so. I wouldn't want to be wasting my money.
January 11, 201313 yr if I was to buy myself a new toy tablet, which should I get? As things stand, does that make you an "undefined brand" wanker?
January 11, 201313 yr I've got a Spectrum emulator working on it... You have to load games from pretend tape files. WTF? Anyway, Manic Miner loaded.
