Aye, and the Sphinx is at the base of the plateau that the Pyramids are on if memory serves me right. I'm not saying there isn't a KFC/Pizza hut there. It's just always annoyed me when people say "The Pyramids are shit, there's a KFC right next to them". They're still the most jaw-dropping man made thing I've ever seen. April 23, 201313 yr Anyone been to Skiathos? Loads of ancient ruins on that island and the only trips they have available are to see where Mama Mia was filmed. Absolutely scandalous but is a sign of the times, celebrity/branding trumps history these days.
