May 22, 201313 yr I am also going over in summer 2014. Go as late as possible in August as it is quieter - Florida Kids back in school mid August. I booked a hotel off travel republic and will book flights in September on Virgin atlantic as it seems to be working out a few hundred quid cheaper that way. If you are wanting to chuck car hire in as well may be better to go with a company. Shop the internet for cheapest park tickets - most websites offer different prices. Don't always book tickets for seperate parks as a lot of these sites offer combined Disney/Universal ticket offers. How long you going for? I would advise to get to all the theme parks you can as they are all great in their own way.

Orlando is very rarely hit by Hurricanes, I have been 3 times in Hurricane season and caught the tail of one Hurricane where it just pissed down all day. Balls to it if a Hurricane hits it will be an experience.

May 22, 201313 yr What NB & Walkden said. dont miss Busch gardens, best park IMO. Kennedy space centre is a cracking place to visit if only to see how big the saturn V rocket was. The spare which was going to be Apollo 18 is laid on its side in a giant indoor space museum did orlando for 7-8 days four times from 2002 to 2008. And buy this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brit-Guide-Orlando-Disney-World/dp/0572040016/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1369227450&sr=8-1&keywords=florida+for+brits If you follow the tips in there on which day to do each park and which rides to in what order it can save you a lot of queuing. My wife planned each park with military precision and by lunch we had done all the major rides in the park we were in and could pick and choose which ones to do again at our leisure. We always did a second or third week on the gulf coast as we were always knackered after a week in Orlando.

I think you may have, Its one thing I hoped to see but thats gone now, I just have to live with going to Johnson Space center 2 or 3 times a year when I have guest from the UK over. I love the place never bet tired of seeing the Satan 5 Rocket or misson control (both of them). I've even managed see the inside of the neutral buoyancy lab (biggest pool in the world)

Well jel as they say No I don't, (but I've been asked that a few times), The problem with seeing the inside of the NBL is its not open to the public all the time( just a couple of times a year), so it's the luck of the draw and the time I went it was open so had to see it, it's the same with mission control, you normally get to see the modern one and see live pictures from the lab in space, but on the odd time that , say they have a space walk to do some repairs you are not allowed in, so they take you to the original one (which they got back from the Smithsonian) and it's so antiquated compared to the one now it's scary (I took my bother-in-law once he just sat there in total silence and then said afterwards I can't believe it the same thing I watch on TV all those years ago when he was a kid)
May 22, 201313 yr When going to the theme parks get there as soon as the doors open and go straight to the far end of the park and work your way back. Every fooker with kids cant get beyond the first few rides/shops/bloke in a costume.
May 22, 201313 yr With a pool Aye, we need it when we went. Did a big shop to, was much better than eating out everyday and night. We got a pass, for Universal, Islands Of Adventure, Bush Gardens, Sea World, (great ride there) and wet and wild, which has some fantastic slides, best water park I've been. 2 weeks isn't enough. Great place, especially if you have kids
