Been looking at these android tv boxes does any one on here have any knowledge about them and can you get a good amount of channel's on them

Had a big falling out with mine yesterday.  Turned it on, went into XBMC and was faced with a black screen.  After much googling and fannying around and thinking it was fucked, I went into apps on the android home screen, selected XBMC and cleared all data.

 

Started XBMC again and it was alright ... but ALL add-ons had gone and the add-on wizard wouldn't run.  Managed to get all the major add-ons back myself by manually adding them, but I've lost all my favourites and ting.

 

Grrrr.

I've had to "crash" mine a few times when its been "working" forever and won't go back to Home screen. Notice the favourites doesn't always work - even though its goes to the link you want. However, when you manually go to that link it works fine.

 

I'm back in favour with mine again as all the earlier issues are resolved, Ex Pats TV, footie, movies, etc.

Yep - all porn in fact.

Had a quick search for Made of Stone and Spike Island last night but found neither of them. Not sure if I'm looking in the correct places. Thought they'd both be readily available now they are out on DVD / BluRay.

 

BUT... found it on Isohunt... so guessing can stick a USB in the side of the Android Box and play MKV files?

I'd have thunk so.  I'm sure I read you could play media files directly from USB.

 

Regarding Made of Stone and Spike Island, I get the feeling that the films on Icefilms, MashUp and 1Channel are geared towards the big 'blockbuster' aimed at America type of movies as I've yet to find any copies of Alpha Papa on there.  I'd have expected to find at least a cam copy somewhere.

 

Oh, and regarding my own problems, they're all sorted now.  Mysteriously I was able to re-run the add-on wizard last night so I've got everything back again ... plus some more add-ons ... and as a bonus some extra porn channels.

 

I've re-downloaded the Metropolis skin which I think is the best looking and easiest to use.  Everything is now arranged in my favourites folders, so I'm a happy man again.  I'll be steering clear of clicking on random links in Navi-X in future though - pretty sure it was one of them that fucked it up.

Depends which skin you use.  I downloaded the Metropolis one as that seemed to be the only one that had a 'favourites' on the front screen.

 

Once you've done that all you then do is is go into Video add on's, highlight the likes of Icefilms, press the menu button on your remote and 'add to favourites'.  Simples.  Repeat with Navi-X, Mash-Up, 1Channel, Lubetube, etc and you've got your own handy list of add-ons in the one place.

 

Now, within Icefilms (and also 1Channel) you can find your fave TV shows (for example I've got Game of Thrones, Sons of Anarchy, Homeland, etc) press menu when you find them and add to favourites.  Do the same with any films you fancy watching.  Now when you open Icefilms you'll have a favourites folder in there.  Open that and you'll have two sub folders, one for TV shows, one for films ... and hey presto you've populated them.  Piece of piss really and it saves having to go through all the other menus to find them in future.

I downloaded a few different skins, wish I hadn't bothered as loads of the shortcuts vanished. I couldn't get back to what it was previously.

 

Knowing what a patient chap you are Smiley.....I wouldn't bother, just leave it as is (I wish I had)

Had one go at making ITV1 a favourite from the Ex-Pats App and it never loaded the page - it tried to and said it was working but then gave up.

Whereas when I went through the chore of locating the channel manually, it worked fine - which I found odd.

I will have another crack at it tonight.

As for the porn - I have no problem with it being on there - but can these Apps be hidden? Alternatively, without spending too much time, can you set up user accounts so that you have to log-in and get your own set of Apps, favourites, etc, etc?

I think the year is just indicative of the first year it was broadcast.  If you click on it you'll then be faced with sub folders, Season 1, Season 2, etc and all the episodes in the relevant folders.  When you then click on the episode you want to watch there'll be a big long list of available links. Some won't work but most will.  Next to each link it shows how many views each link has had.  Just pick the ones with the highest number of views.  Easy peasy.

 

There is an option in Settings to create different profiles, but I've not looked into it as I've no need to.  Alternatively, you could just delete/disable them.

Put all the non-porn video add-ons that you use into 'favourites' and show them how to use it.  DON'T show them how to access the full library of available add-ons and you'll not have a problem.

They're aged 9 and 12......they'll be more than able of finding things that are hidden, in a matter of seconds, I need to delete then totally in reality......

To remove porn (or any other add-ons) just do the following:-

 

Settings

Add-ons

Enabled add-ons

Video add-ons

Now just ho to each one in the list, press Ok and then select disable.

They'll now have disappeared.

Simples

 

 

... don't worry though, you can just enable them again when you've got the house to yourself for an hour

I think so. Like how when you are watching a film and pause it tells you what time it will be finished for. Clever. And the weather!!

 

We had our first buffering issues last night. Trying to watch "2 Guns". Reckon it was 20 minutes before we sorted it.

 

However, we did do a restart on the router - so could've been that. All good in the end... apart from we couldn't be arsed watching the entire movie.

 

Not sure the Favourites is that much quicker. But put a few things in there now.

Don't forget gaylords that you can install uTorrent and download straight to the device, rather than fucking about with USB.

No it was all. Plus I've already bee-lined for HF links as you don't need to fuck about with passwords.

 

Utorrent on the TV for downloading - now that sounds interesting - but the Droidbox device has ltd storage space and we have ultra fast broadband at work, so easier to download and take home on USB or HD.
