Where will you be J? There's that Bolton run bar in Benalmadena who has all the info. Name escapes me but I'm sure someone on here will remember it.

In a bit of a slump at the moment. Looking like it will be the worst season for some time.

What's the Bolton run bar in Benalmadena?

The Mrs family have an apartment there so been over a few times.

Is it the 3 lions?

The lounge bar is run by Dave and Shirley boardman, both are big Bolton fans.

Not been so far this season but shall be visiting soon after their winter break for a couple of games.

The lounge bar has it's own coach that runs to every home game and a few selected away games. Going to the home games is like returning back to my youth, they allow beer on the coach and on arrival near the ground they tie the massive Guiri army St Georges cross flag to two trees outside a pub where more beer is consumed.

For many years a bloke called Steve Phillips who once played for Birmingham and a host of other small clubs opened a bar called Inchys, Inchy was his nickname. He and a bloke called Dave Redshaw ran coaches to and from the bar to home games. Dave wrote a book on the history of Malaga CF and has sold copies worldwide.

For many years Inchys bar was a regular meeting place for the ex pats and also for those who stayed in Benalmadena, he offered most live games on Saturdays and when ever footy was played. A spat between Dave Boardman who worked as an electrician and Inchy himself happened when Dave decided to buy a bar. The Lounge bar was three times the size of Inchys and had an outside terrace to which he now has it spot on. He also has at least eight 50" plasmas showing anything which the punters want. He also has the first real ale on the Costa which is sold nice n cold and bloody good. Inchys bar became desolate and subsequently he decided to call it a day.

Inchy left and returned to the UK leaving Dave with the full monopoly of Malaga games and punters.

I beg anyone that travels to Benalmadena to go to a Malaga game. Visit the Lounge bar and get a ticket because it will be the best experience you will have had in ages. The game can be absolute shite but to be with the ex pats and the locals who have attached themselves to them will make the day.

Ive been in Inchy's a few times but only to meet Dave Reddy as we knew him, but ive not been over there for about 7/8 years. I was playing golf with Daves brother Mark a while back and he told me about the book, im sure he also said that he writes a piece for the Malaga FC programme. Good L/H lad is Dave and hes been over there for about 25 years so when I go over next June I will be looking for him.I hope he drinks in the lounge bar cos then i will kill 2 birds with one stone so too speak.

Yeah, Reddy drinks in the Lounge bar regularly since Inchy left. He also does a piece in English for locals on Malaga games.

I'll be calling in again when I am over there again next June, Beer Swiller. I have a number of relatives around La Cala De Mijas, Calahonda and Fuengirola so it's just round t'corner. Downside is that I always seem to be there outside of the footy season but at least, this time, the World Cup will be on.

Be a good one to go to mate and with Bolton Dave, you'd be on a winner. Looks after Bowtners.
