December 30, 201312 yr It was a bottle neck an only those first in could get at em. If that would have been out in open it would have been a massacre
December 30, 201312 yr They knew what they were doing...I arrived at the top of the steps as they were backing the original 10 or so who were on the platform back up the steps...they then pushed us all the way back to the top of the ramp...then reinforcements arrived..they knew that if they came out of that tunnel and we got behind them they were dead... I don't think o Neil was even there...I know j***** the jock was and he basically held them together, we had a lad from Salfords number and we persuaded them to come back, they hadn't even been in the match... They were game as fuck...and if the shoe was on the other foot I'm not sure we would of been so organised or lucky....however I'm sure they were more than happy when the ob turned up... I went back the next day to check if the camera above the newspaper stand was working and bumped into a manc who was doing the same thing.... They'd were doing some work outside trinity street and the ones at the back were launching cobbles....I got one back straight in the chest so thanks for that...which felt like id been hit by a train and fucked me right up...if it had hit me in the face it would of fucked my boyish good lucks :-) I'd have it in my top 3 after stoke at home outside the trotters and Rome 97 watching England Edited December 30, 201312 yr by Bobcat
December 30, 201312 yr That line would have gone with one big surge, or if they hadn't got fucking big iron bars. So my mate says.

December 31, 201312 yr i was one of the advance party of a dozen or so who went down to the platform for some bizarre reason. they knew exactly what to expect and were tooled up for the ocasion. as well as the bars, they sported knuckle dusters, coshes and even did some of ours with paving flags down on the platform. getting backed up the footbridge i was frantically on the phone to the lads in the york. by the time we were backed to where the ticket inspectors usually stand the cavalry turned up thank fuck. i remember the metal newspaper stand pretty well,i was shielding myself with it and the cunts were smashing my shins instead with all sorts. i was stood right next to MR58 when his head spurted blood. i clouted one of ours my mistake with part of the metal paper stand (think it was one of henry lloyd's mates) soz pal pretty sure O'Neill wasn't there but J the jock certainly was along with a few L/H reds known to us that ranks as good as derby 85 down the side of the old college
December 31, 201312 yr I believe a well known member of this board ran to the York whacking on the widows shouting "get out get out they're here they're here" haha Edited December 31, 201312 yr by gonzo

January 2, 201412 yr that ranks as good as derby 85 down the side of the old college 28/29 years ago! remember it well. They had two vans parked up back of the old college. Went on for ages. OB turned up in black cabs
January 2, 201412 yr IIRC I was locked in the griff, with OB outside preventing anyone leaving... couldn't even get out the back door. I was fuming, 21 at the time, and reckless. luckily I have got old gracefully
