February 25, 201412 yr I'm confused as to why Mike Ashley let him go for £4m, given his goal ratio was significantly better up there than it was for us.
February 25, 201412 yr He's mostly only played for Sam. He played for 3 or 4 managers in quick succession at Newcastle I think - Kinnear, Shearer, Hughton and Pardew - and despite all that turmoil helped them back up with 17 goals the next season. He's actually scored 93 league goals according to wiki (as of 8th Feb it says, so add another 2 or 3 on), and three of those seasons were in the Championship (one with us). After Lampard, there aren't many who've been as consistent from midfield - especially as he's not been playing for a top 4 side. Edited February 25, 201412 yr by davidjack

February 25, 201412 yr I'm going out on a limb here, but when he's 33/34 he'll not be getting a game at WHU in the top division.

February 25, 201412 yr reckon Ashley was onto something there when he sold him Nolan out, Cabaye in. Pretty good business IMO.
February 25, 201412 yr Nolan out, Cabaye in. Pretty good business IMO. much better business than Nolan out Muamba in imo
February 25, 201412 yr much better business than Nolan out Muamba in imoIf we were trying to second guess heart problems at that juncture I think we might still have gone the way we did!
February 25, 201412 yr Aye, Nolan out, Muamba in, even though Muamba signed in the summer and Nolan left at the end of the winter transfer window.
