Well at least I dont talk it Garrp, rather than just put idiotic one liners on other peoples post why dont you come up with some counter facts rather than the ramblings of Garrps world.

Nolan was and is a top midfield player who was more than part of the fantastic days under Sam, he went off the boil when other managers played him out of position. I suspect that if he had followed Sam sooner he may have made the England squad. You dont become Captain of famous clubs like Bolton, Newcastle and West Ham unless your a top player.

Yes Nolan was a top midfield player.

Yes Nolan is a top midfield player.

But in between he went a long way downhill.

Out of position? Probably.

Out of condition? Certainly.

Nolan's body fat percentage was a disgrace for a professional player.

Nothing to do with the manager or the training regime - more a lifestyle issue.

Maybe the birth of his first child was the underlying cause.

I don't know, and neither do you.

Even without his goals we always seemed to do better with him in the team. Even if no one could workout what he was contributing.   His red card at Blackburn the day of jussi's 2 penalty saves was a

I thought that at the time his form tapered dramatically when his first was born, also Allardyce has said Megson tried to make Nolan a box to box player which he never was, that was why he stopped scoring. Just curious how do you know what his body fat was? and what was it out of interest?

Saw a video of Carroll and Nolan for West Ham TV or something last year.

They asked what they like doing in their spare time.

Nolan said something like "not much, just relax and have a few beers"

At the time, I will bet there were more posts consisting of.

"4 million good deal"

"I will drive him there myself"

"Lazy fat cunt"

"Pointy fingered fucker"

Than

"Please don't leave Kevin"

"Gartside's a cunt for selling him"

well, i like nolan, but if a pro footballer on a couple of million quid a year can't sort his life so that he can function when having had a baby, its a bloody poor do

how the fcuk do the rest of us manage

Hanging out with best mate Fatty Ricketts didn't help either.

Rumour has it that they both liked the odd pie.

Another gartside fuck up

Selling him was the right thing to do at the time, there's only you doesn't seem to think that

Thing is probably half of our current lot have half the ability of KN but as he is seen as the son of the devil by a couple of BSA haters on here you will get no word of admiration. In fact two of em would have you believe the club did as well as it did despite BSA and he was the worse thing to happen to BWFC.

Not sure anyone could have a bad word to say about kev.

even the most feverent allardyce knockers.

Bsa was fantastic for the club and a reason for our success. Doesn't stop him from being a bit of a twat though

It's time to put on make up,

It's time to light the lights...

MMW ITK etc.

It was higher than mine, and I was (and am) over twice his age and not competed in any sport for 20 years now.

I bet you can't name one single person who thinks that.

Nolan's form dropped for Bolton once Okocha left. Took on more responsibility (capt) and forgot to do what he did best, get forward and score goals

Name names or shut the fuck up.

It ain't going to lead to legal actions. Anyone who says Sam was not brilliant for us until the last few weeks is stupid.

How he left was rotten, neither side came out of that well, but what he achieved was exceptional has anyone said otherwise.

Seeing him get cleaned out in J2 off one of the lads after giving it the "do you know who I am sketch" was quite a sight

He was a top player for us and instrumental in our rise. Yes, he had gone stale and a move probably felt right for both parties at the time, tho I was sad to see him go. We criminally undersold him tho - a 26 year old midfielder who'd been banging 8 to 10 goals a season in for the past 7 years...4 million?! Do me a favour. Same with Cahill and Anelka and Eidur. We can't negotiate for shit.

"8-10 goals per season for the past 7 years"?

Except for the last two and a half years he was with us you mean?

£4m for Nolan was a great price and a great piece of business for us at the time.

Let it go FFS.  I'm sick of folk bleating on about mistakes they think they club have made in the past ... especially when they use bullshit, made-up facts to back up their argument.

Calm down pal. I said he'd gone stale. There are no made up facts in what I said. He scored 40 league goals for us - some seasons in a struggling side and around another 10 or so in Cups. Yes, he went off the boil under Lee and Megson in terms of performances and goals, but then so did the whole fucking team. I have let it go, I was just sharing my opinion, for christ's sake.

Thinly veiled I can't backup my opinion that I like to spout.

Nolan is so great that the Newcastle we sold him to went down didn't they?

And £4m for a midfielder with that goalscoring record in his prime was an absolute steal, whichever way you look at it. Barton went for 6 not long after and has nothing like the scoring record and is a fucking lunatic. He's now coming up to 100 Premier League goals - not many midfielders manage that - and certainly none who are sold for £4m at the age of 26.

I thought I just had backed it up - with some facts. He did go down with them - but he only went there in Jan - and they were already a shambles and heading that way. His goals helped take them up the next season though...a trick he repeated the next year for West Ham. And his goals will be a major reason for them staying up this season too. Fact.

In my opinion, he's an attacker. It's false to call him a midfielder as he only drops back for set pieces. That means you are a man short at the back, which is why he's never played for a top team, for England or performed for any manager other than Fat Sam.

He's now coming up to 100 Premier League goals - not many midfielders manage that - and certainly none who are sold for £4m at the age of 26.

Based on his average scoring record, it will be another 5 years before he gets to 100.

Hardly 'coming up to'
