Not sure there's any logic to this, shelling out dosh after dosh with no return, and seemingly endless setbacks   Fuck it though, I for one am thrilled the club is standing by him, as it's him.

Nice guy but time to get rid. Its not doing anybody any good hearing "Its Stuart Holdens comeback game" only for him to fall apart again.

We don't have the funds to carry players no matter how nice of a guy they are.

Not doing who any good? Do you honestly think the players are affected by whether Holden's coming back or not? I certainly don't think they would be enough for it to affect them performance wise. Plus Dougies comment about wanting to people like Holden around contradicts the thought that he's not doing anyone any good, add to the fact that the fans love him and I'd say he's a positive influence around a club that is surrounded by too much negativity at the moment.

As for not having the funds that is complete guesswork, nobody knows how much he's on, nobody knows how much of that we actually pay, nobody knows for how long he might have been covered by insurance payments and nobody knows what we would offer him for a new contract in the summer.

Seen as dougie has made it very clear that money's tight then I hardly think he's going to go and offer Holden a £15k per week unconditional contract in the summer.

I don't know if we'll ever see him play again, but as long as he is confident that he will then it's good enough for me. If he's right and he is back at the start of next season (seems ambitious to me but what do I know) then he's only out for another 4 games.

£15k a week to boost morale would be a bargain after what we spunked on Robbie Blake!

I have no issue with us keeping Holden on.

At worst, he can go and work with the Academy coaches. His attitude, spirit and infectious enthusiasm could work wonders.

Difference being Holden knows a bit about football & at least has a bit of a grasp on reality.

There's no pleasing you, is there?

I think you need a new hobby mate. Following a football team clearly isn't working for you.
