Weirdo

Does weirdo mean someone who posts nonsense ?

With or without large doses of sarcasm ?

I just said it - with a large dollop of cynicism and sarcasm. You thought that I was inferring someone else has? Fucking hard work on here sometimes.

I was playing devils advocate. Republican sympathisers see him that way. I despise the fucker (and his sidekick). I thought the 'hang the cunt' might have given this away.

Jules - I hadn't even thought about the other feller you mention. Like many, I lived through the M62, Manchester, Warrington bombings etc. Much closer to (what was then) home and, therefore, much more meaningful to me than some Pan African terrorism.

What with the Omagh developments, the Continuity IRA leader catching a bullet and now this, it is nice to see justice doesn't just cut one way.

Fair enough, as nobody had said that, I assumed you were pointing out that one man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist...as your statement read similar to what many said about Mandela...

Well, I have never been so insulted in all my........................................

Signed photo in the mail to you, young sir.

Tommy Crossan led fuck all. I happen to know very well what I'm talking about.

There'd be widespread violence in Ulster on a scale never seen before.

No there wouldn't.

i believe you, but why?

i believe you, but why?

Many reasons. He isn't a relevant enough figure in the north anymore to motivate someone young to pick up a gun in his name and the old and bold are too fat and grown up anyway. People are a bit too realistic about the kind of figure Adams was in the early 70s to be surprised. A big kick off, even if they wanted one, is physically beyond them. Besides, Northern Ireland's Catholics are pretty happy with their lot these days and won't see a conviction, if it happens, as a good enough reason to rock the boat. The average bloke on the Falls is as disgusted at this murder as everyone else. Apart from that, it is the dissidents who nowadays have the influence to get kids out on the streets rioting and even then it requires contentious parades to rile them up. Those elements will be pretty happy he's in a bind, so no reason for them to kick off.

Overall, pair of bastards they were but it's a good job it's been Adams and McGuinness driving the bus this last twenty odd years than some other headbanger. That's not to say I won't smile if he does go down.

Makes sense.

So if he goes down is there a headbanger lined up to de-stable everything?

Bad choice of words. 'Significant figure' in the CIRA. Will that keep you happy?

Well sort of and only for a brief period but that was by no means his main contribution to the world.

No. All the headbangers either defected in 1998 or youngsters who have never been anywhere near Sinn Fein. Adams and McGuinness' replacements, when they come, will probably be wimmin or from the Republic. It took me a long time to get used to the idea too even when I got paid to give a fuck, but Sinn Fein and what is left of the IRA is genuinely in support of this peace thing and I can't think of a single possible state of affairs that could change their mind any time soon.
